Background / History
Wei Country is one of the Six Kingdoms, ruled from Daliang by the Zhao imperial house. Its Royal Martial Repository Pavilion preserves high-grade martial arts, including Immortal Martial Arts Techniques, but royal scions are burdened by National Luck Suppression, making martial advancement difficult. This restriction traditionally pushed Wei’s rulers toward statecraft and palace learning rather than personal martial cultivation. 1 12
The country’s royal family holds the means to produce Wish Stones, cultivation resources tied to destiny. This monopoly underpins a fragile balance between the court, Martial Arts Forces, and noble families; the royal house remains vulnerable if it cannot maintain stability or provide sufficient benefits. 12
During the Three Kingdoms’ campaign against Wei, Chu, Zhao, and Han formed an alliance against it. Wei lost territory in the south, suffered the assassination of its Crown Prince, and endured a severe drought that created widespread refugees and weakened its National Luck. 28 98
Under Zhao Hongming’s rise, Wei gradually shifted from a state constrained by powerful sects and local forces into a centralized military power. Zhao Hongming consolidated Ying Commandery, took over the Zhengyi Sect’s resources, became Crown Prince, and secured the capital’s key guard and intelligence offices through trusted subordinates. 156 230 237
Political Structure and National Luck
- Royal authority — The Zhao imperial house governs Wei Country, though its authority was historically checked by major Martial Arts Forces and regional military interests. 12 103
- National Luck Suppression — Royal bloodlines bear suppression that limits martial cultivation; this is considered a major reason royal families generally do not produce top martial experts. 1 241
- Wish Stones — Only royal families can create Wish Stones, making them central to both cultivation and political bargaining with Martial Arts Forces. 12
- Imperial Jade Seal — Wei’s seal became part of Zhao Hongming’s Four Directions Ancient Seal. After he fused Han and Yan’s seals, their National Destiny merged into Wei’s. 261 276 278
- Unified National Destiny — After unifying the Five Nations, Zhao Hongming refined the remaining Imperial Jade Seals and gathered the realm’s National Destiny into himself; the immense concentration created severe pressure on him. 300
