"Report to the Headmaster! A shocking disaster!"
Dumbledore sat in his office, staring at the week-long leave request in his hand, lost in deep thought.
"How did he suddenly get sick?" he asked Cedric, who had come to deliver the news.
"I don't know, but I think the professor may have overworked himself. He barely slept all semester, constantly teaching me." Cedric had been so worked up that he stood before Dumbledore with tears and snot streaming down his face.
"That shouldn't be possible, should it? With Kayson's physical condition, he may not look like some musclebound brute, but he could probably lift Hogwarts itself. How could he suddenly fall ill?" Dumbledore looked utterly unconvinced.
"The professor said he modified his body too much, and the flesh and machinery are rejecting each other," Cedric said gloomily.
"Then replace them?"
"The professor replaced his heart with an engine and sliced each lung into three parts. I don't think they can be put back..."
"Even so, those are only physical modifications. How serious could it be? At worst, I'll go take a look with you. There's no need to trouble Madam Pomfrey." Dumbledore stood and placed a hand on Cedric's shoulder, then attempted Apparition... and failed.
