The Old Gym Leader sat across from Sato, while Mark sat half a seat behind Sato at his side. Bugsy obediently moved around the table, boiling water and making tea.

Azalea Gym had a long history and had always followed certain ancient customs, such as not speaking while eating or sleeping.

Only after Bugsy served the hot tea to Sato and the Old Gym Leader did the conversation officially begin.

"Does the Old Gym Leader know what happened last night?" Without any probing, Sato got straight to the point.

Given his current status, he simply didn't need to exchange empty pleasantries with the other man.

The Old Gym Leader, who had been sipping his tea, remained remarkably composed. Only after setting down his cup did he slowly speak.

Sato's expression remained cold. He did not even glance at Bugsy, whose panic carried a trace of expectation.

"Whether a Gym Leader is qualified will naturally be decided by the Pokémon League's assessment. I am only asking whether you know what happened last night."

The Old Gym Leader shook his head and still did not answer. His expression grew much lonelier.

"Looks like he's still not good enough..." He shook his head and gently patted Bugsy, whose face was full of disappointment.

"Since he cannot become the Gym Leader, does Bugsy have the qualifications to join Dark Night Gym and study there?"

Sato fell silent. He truly did not
