Darkrai's Dream Space

Sinnoh Region, Lilycove City, East Coast.

At this moment, the entire East Coast had been sealed off by the Pokémon League. A large number of League Trainers in uniform were stationed along the beach, all looking battle-ready.

Out on the sea not far away, two Pokémon from Sinnoh Region's legends were engaged in an exceptionally fierce battle. One was pitch-black all over, like a night fiend, moving in strange and unpredictable ways. Its jagged crimson collar made it look even more vicious.

The other shimmered with radiant light, elegant in form. Its pink ring-shaped wings were like starlit tassels draped over its body, breathtakingly beautiful.

If Sato had been here, he certainly would have recognized the two Pokémon before him.

Cresselia! A pair of Legendary Pokémon said to command the dream powers of the Elven world.

Darkrai controlled nightmares, while Cresselia controlled sweet dreams. That was precisely why the two Pokémon were natural enemies.

Yet what Chikuno could not understand was why these two Pokémon had not stayed properly on Newmoon Island and Fullmoon Island in western Sinnoh, but had crossed the continent to fight on the eastern side. If this had not been Lilycove City, the base camp of the Sinnoh Alliance,

they would have found it difficult to mobilize such a large amount of manpower and bring the situation under control so quickly.

Out at sea, Darkrai and Cresselia completely ignored the tiger-like crowd watching from the beach, as though they only had eyes for each other.

Beside Chikuno, a massive Hippopotas had long since readied itself. Two Sandstorms gathered around it could erupt at any moment, creating the most favorable battle environment for it.

Unfortunately, despite being an Elite Four level Pokémon and Elite Four Chikuno's ace, Hippopotas still failed to draw Darkrai and Cresselia's attention.
