A Dog with a Bone

Just as everyone had expected, Flint was no match for Wallace, and nothing unexpected happened during the battle.

"Infernape is incapacitated. Milotic wins, so the victor is Wallace of Sootopolis City!"

With the referee's loud announcement, Flint's journey in the Pseudo-Elite Four Tournament officially came to an end.

At the arena exit, Volkner stood with his arms crossed, silently waiting for Flint to walk over.

"I lost!" Flint shrugged and said, sounding somewhat relieved.

"I saw. Time to go home."

"Yeah."

In the Waiting Room, Wallace spread his arms and rushed toward Sato with devilish steps, shouting as he ran.

"Moyan-kun, Moyan-kun! I advanced!"

"..."

Sato nimbly sidestepped Wallace's bear hug, then turned around and left the room.

There were only four Eight-to-Four matches, so there was a long rest time in between. Both Sato and Ryoko had been scheduled for battles in the afternoon.

Now, it was time for lunch!

"Flint and the others went back?" Sato took a bite of fried chicken and couldn't help but ask again.

"Yeah, they left with Volkner. Are they always that inseparable?" Phoebe's face was slightly red. Don't know what she had thought of, but it had made her so excited.

Sato buried his head in his food, instinctively sensing some other meaning behind the question. He knew better than to interrupt.

Ryoko, on the other hand, smiled and nodded at Phoebe, answering her question.

Then the two girls began whispering excitedly again, so caught up in their conversation that they forgot to eat.

"Moyan-kun, make sure you cheer on this afternoon! I'm looking forward to meeting you in the finals!"

Wallace suddenly appeared from who knew where and suddenly began cheering Sato on.

"Hmph, if you want to make the finals, you'll have to ask for my opinion first!" Phoebe
