Background / History
Tang San first appears while fleeing a 1,200-year Dark Claw Bear with his teacher, Yu Xiaogang. Upon encountering Lin Feng’s group, he considers using them as a distraction so that he and Yu Xiaogang can escape. Lin Feng instead kills the bear with a single punch. 8
Gray Wolf’s scan identifies Tang San as Yu Xiaogang’s only disciple and reveals that he possesses the Clear Sky Hammer and Blue Silver Grass. Tang San fiercely defends Yu Xiaogang when Gray Wolf challenges the Grandmaster’s theories, even though he struggles to explain what Yu Xiaogang can offer him that his own talents and Tang Sect inheritance cannot. 8 9
After repeated humiliation by Lin Feng and Gray Wolf, Tang San spends five years cultivating with extreme intensity, sleeping only two hours daily. This raises his cultivation to Level 39 but leaves him noticeably dark-skinned. 42
At Shrek Academy, Tang San initially takes pride in his Level 39 cultivation and 1,700-year third Soul Ring. Lin Feng’s thousand-year first ring and ten-thousand-year second ring shatter his confidence, deepening his resentment toward Lin Feng. 48 50
Tang San challenges Lin Feng to a five-versus-one fight restricted to Level 40. He coordinates with Xiao Wu, Dai Mubai, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun, but Lin Feng overwhelms their combined efforts. Tang San deploys his Tang Sect techniques and Peacock Plume, forcing Lin Feng to summon the Light Emperor Battle Dragon; the dragon carries Tang San into the air, after which he suffers a severe injury in his fall. 52 53 54 55
His relationship with Xiao Wu deteriorates after she learns that Tang San knew powerful Hidden Weapons but had given her only weak defensive equipment, and after his disparaging attitude toward ordinary rabbits is exposed. Xiao Wu chooses to return to the Star Dou Great Forest and distance herself from him. 72
Tang San later inherits the Sea God and Asura God positions and attacks Lin Feng to avenge his past defeats, Xiao Wu’s loss, and Tang Hao’s severed arm. Though he fights Lin Feng as a God King and uses several self-created Asura techniques, he is defeated. 128 129 130
Appearance
Tang San is a blue-haired youth whose complexion becomes notably darker after years of relentless cultivation. 8 42
- Blue hair. 8
- Darkened skin caused by his intensive training regimen. 42
- Wields the Clear Sky Hammer after his Martial Soul is revealed. 73
- Later wears the dark-red Asura God Suit in battle. 129
Personality
Tang San is intensely loyal and protective toward the people he regards as his own, especially Yu Xiaogang, Xiao Wu, and Tang Hao. He reacts with immediate fury when Gray Wolf insults Yu Xiaogang and repeatedly frames his hostility toward Lin Feng as concern for Xiao Wu’s safety. 9 48 51
His early defeats foster an obsessive work ethic. Rather than accepting his inferiority to Lin Feng, he trains for five years with minimal sleep and later seeks to repay every humiliation “a thousand, ten thousand” times over. 42 128
He is also prideful, vindictive, and pragmatic toward those outside his inner circle. During the battle with Lin Feng, he ignores Ma Hongjun’s fall and calls him “trash,” then later brutally retaliates against Dai Mubai for refusing to catch him. 53 55 77
Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Souls
Tang San possesses the Clear Sky Hammer and Blue Silver Grass, the latter identified by Gray Wolf as the Blue Silver Emperor. His innate full Soul Power and Twin Martial Souls are considered sufficient foundations for exceptional future strength. 8 49
- Blue Silver Grass Bind — Summons vines to restrain opponents. 54 77
- Uses Blue Silver Grass to create a dome of vines around Lin Feng. 54
- Clear Sky Hammer — His hammer Martial Soul; Tang Hao’s use of the same Martial Soul confirms Tang San’s lineage. 49 73
- Possesses three Soul Rings by Level 39; his third ring is 1,700 years old. 48 50
Tang Sect Techniques
Tang San retains the Tang Sect’s hidden-weapon knowledge and secret techniques from his background as a Tang Sect descendant. 9 50
- Purple Demon Eye — A perception-based technique used to examine Lin Feng’s Soul Rings and support combat. 50 53 54
- Mysterious Jade Hand — A hand technique that is shattered in a clash with Lin Feng. 54
- Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — A movement technique; Lin Feng’s lightning-based speed suppresses it. 54
- Four Ounces Deflect a Thousand Pounds — Used alongside Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track in close combat. 54
- Peacock Plume — Releases a dense barrage of Hidden Weapons potent enough to threaten a Soul Elder. It forces Lin Feng to exhaust his Soul Power summoning the Light Emperor Battle Dragon. 54 55
Asura and Sea God Power
After ascending, Tang San inherits the dual God King positions of the Asura God and Sea God. 128
- Asura Sword — His primary divine weapon in the battle against Lin Feng. 128
- Asura Flames — Creates a massive fire-wreathed Three-legged Golden Crow. 128
- Asura Blast — A self-created Soul Skill that condenses dark-red energy into a destructive sphere. 129
- Asura God Suit — Dark-red divine armor revealed after he is injured by Lin Feng’s ice-based counterattack. 129
- Self-created Divine Technique — Condenses a dark-red cloud of Asura God Power intended to kill across realms. 129 130
Relationships
- Yu Xiaogang — Teacher and mentor. Tang San is identified as Yu Xiaogang’s sole disciple and fiercely defends him against Gray Wolf’s accusations. 8 9
- Tang Hao — Father and the Clear Sky Douluo. Tang San calls on him to defend his honor; Tang Hao later loses an arm while confronting Lin Feng’s side. 49 51 52
- Xiao Wu — Treated by Tang San as a sister and someone he feels compelled to protect. Their bond collapses after Xiao Wu learns of his double standards toward Soul Beasts and his inadequate protection for her. 48 72
- Lin Feng — Primary rival and eventual enemy. Tang San’s repeated losses to Lin Feng drive his cultivation, revenge, and final God-level assault. 42 50 128 130

- Ma Hongjun — Shrek teammate whom Tang San dismisses as “trash” during the group battle against Lin Feng. 53
