"Henry, your record surprised me. I knew you would win, but I never expected such outstanding results."
Suosilan held the battle report Henry had just submitted and said kindly, "You will be a rising star of the Empire. I have a feeling the King will grant you a higher title for your military achievements."
Henry smiled and humbly said that he had merely fulfilled the duty expected of a vassal of the Great King. As the King's student, he could not bring shame upon the Dean.
"However, it will be rather difficult to give you more elite soldiers..."
Henry's expression did not change. "Legion Commander, my ability is beyond question. Why can't I be given temporary command of more soldiers?"
Suosilan frowned, rose to his feet, and pointed at the map as he explained, "In the northeastern Tian Yin Plains, the Seventh Legion and the Eleventh Legion have been tightly surrounded by the Half-Orcs' elite main force.
"The enemy has ample forces, and the Half-Orcs are more familiar with the terrain here than we are. Our men are trapped within a narrow area.
"Their supplies have been cut off for more than a month. Their carrier pigeons reported that their reserves are nearly exhausted. The situation is extremely critical."
Legion Commander Suosilan stared gravely at the map. Henry nodded slightly as well. From the looks of it, the decisive battle could erupt at any moment. They had to make a difficult choice.
"To distract the Half-Orcs these past two days, we opened fourteen small battlefields. There have been losses and victories. We cannot wait any longer. We must place our elite soldiers on the main battlefield and fight the enemy to the death!" Legion Commander Suosilan said firmly.
"Legion Commander, forgive my bluntness, but if you can give me another
