Limbo: Border Jail was Uchiha Madara's unique Rinnegan ability. It could use "Limbo" to split off shadows of himself for defense or attack.
The split shadows could neither be seen nor have their presence sensed, and they possessed strength almost equal to Uchiha Madara's.
To sense or see these shadow clones, one had to possess the same Rinnegan or master Six Paths Mode.
Of course, powerful techniques came with certain restrictions. The "shadows" could only remain manifested for a limited time; after being active for a while, they would return to the original body and require a cooldown before they could be used again.
