I Caught You, Xerneas!

Mark looked bewildered.

To be honest, although he had practically created this Xerneas with his own hands, he had never considered capturing it.

It was not that he did not want to capture it; he simply had never thought about it.

After all, while many of the ideas and techniques behind creating Xerneas had been his, Ideal Land had provided most of the resources. During the process, Mark had also learned many things in Ideal Land.

Ideal Land had already given him far too much.

So Mark had never had any intention of claiming Xerneas for himself.

But upon hearing Doctor Noah's words, Mark suddenly realized something.

He had always longed to capture Pokemon through battles, like an ordinary Trainer.

But longing was one thing; actually accomplishing it had happened only a few times.

Whether it was little ones like Jirachi, Mew, Celebi, and Hoopa, or Legendary Pokemon like Rayquaza, Groudon, and Kyogre, they had all practically given themselves away.

Some had voluntarily become his Pokemon, and by the time he found out, they had already snuck into a Pokeball; some had agreed without any hesitation the moment he mentioned it; then there were the one-ball wonders, caught successfully with a single throw, like Spectrier back then.

The only one that had left Mark somewhat satisfied was his battle with Mewtwo.

But in the end, Mewtwo had also willingly agreed to become his Pokemon.

And this Xerneas seemed to perfectly match the way he had always dreamed of capturing Pokemon.

After a battle, though it had not been purely a Pokemon battle, and though he had personally joined in while Xerneas had just been born and lacked strength, those were minor flaws.

He had indeed defeated Xerneas through battle.

Now, only the final step remained: throwing a Pokeball at Xerneas.
