The starship was 6.7 kilometers long, shaped like a hexagonal prism, with all structural and protective components made of ceramic steel.
Its interior was divided into seven sections. From bow to stern, they were the port and maintenance section, security and equipment storage section, reactor and shield core section, bridge and command center section, production and engineering section, residential and public facilities section, and research and education facilities section.
In addition, a mass acceleration rail running straight from stern to bow spanned the entire starship.
It could fire asteroid-class "heavy mass rounds" straight ahead for emergency braking, launch shipborne craft, or serve residents' daily inter-zone commuting needs.
Though the starship had been modeled after the blueprints of the colony ship Zhiyuan, the finished product was significantly longer and considerably wider.
Under extreme conditions, it could accommodate a population of three million.
According to the Academy's plan, they would travel along the Orion Arm toward the Sagittarius-Carina Arm, exploring the mysteries of the galactic center while searching for a new home.
After finding a habitable planet, they would deploy colony pods to the surface, replenish resources, relocate part of the population, and continue onward, preserving the spark of human civilization.
Though undertaking such a project in the New Era seemed somewhat ill-timed, Dr. Conclusion had no intention of changing his plans.
Digital lives were generally this stubborn, and their stubbornness was entirely different from humanity's longing for immortality.
Still, The Alliance respected the Academy's decision and honored its agreement by helping them accomplish this ultimate goal.
