Background / History
The New Alliance was declared following Shelter 404's early successes, with natives and players attending the founding celebration. Chu Guang presented it as a united front intended to establish Restoration Zones and recover what humanity had lost. 288 291
Its early expansion combined military protection with social transformation. After Brown Farmstead surrendered, the Alliance abolished slavery there: 217 serfs and 41 servants received ward status, education, vocational training, and eventual resident status. Human freedom was to be protected by law throughout Alliance Restoration Zones. 291
The Alliance rapidly became a recognized regional force after halting the Bonegnawer Tribe's southward advance and ending the year-long chaos in River Valley Province. Its reputation alone could deter local opportunists beyond its immediate territory. 382
During its campaigns in Sunset Glow Province, it seized Qingshi County, later occupied Falcon City, and used its military position to pursue the Falcon Kingdom's political transformation rather than merely extract concessions. 315 514
Following victory over the Legion, the Alliance entered a period of accelerated growth, attracting settlers, foreign investment, and emissaries from surrounding survivor factions. It issued reconstruction bonds and developed extensive ties with the Corporation, the Academy, the Great Rift Valley, and other settlements. 550 694
The Alliance later expanded its influence into Boulder City, the Southern Sea area, Golden Gallon Port, French Fries Port, Boro Province, and Evernight Port. Its victories over the Torch Church and Southern Legion elevated it into a major force in wasteland affairs. 577 753 840 973 1072
Principles and Governance
- The Alliance defines itself as a union of survivors rather than an empire; its stated objective is to end the Wasteland Era and rebuild human civilization. 567 776
- It protects freedom under law and treats slavery, illegal detention, and human trafficking as serious violations. 291 719
- It does not require every lawful survivor settlement to adopt its exact system, instead favoring common ground while reserving differences. 540
- Player settlements are part of the Alliance and must follow its Constitution and Player Manual, while retaining latitude over local governance within those rules. 698
- A City Lord is a salaried administrative position rather than a hereditary rank; local administration is handled by city halls and specialized agencies. 540 789
- Military service can provide a route to Alliance citizenship, with literacy and vocational training intended to help veterans enter civilian society. 977
