Eighty kilometers east of Ruigu City.
The Enterprise expeditionary camp.
The rolling muffled thunder drifting from afar made the soldiers from the East Coast stop what they were doing and look west.
"What was that sound?"
"Thunder?"
"Doesn't sound like it..."
"It sounded like something exploded."
"That's strange. When I was in Dawn City, I specifically asked caravans from the west. I never heard of any fighting nearby."
The soldiers whispered among themselves.
At the center of the camp, outside a tent.
Standing beside Captain Yunsong, logistics officer Heding looked somewhat tense. Having traveled far and wide for years, he had an exceptionally keen instinct for danger.
He knew very well that sound definitely had not been thunder.
"Was that a nuclear bomb just now?"
Yunsong's brows furrowed slightly.
"I'm not sure."
Nuclear bombs were not actually that terrifying. They were merely cost-effective weapons. There were plenty of weapons in the wasteland more powerful than them.
What truly concerned him was the force contained within that sound.
Based on his experience, the explosion had yielded at least ten tons.
Whether it had been a nuclear weapon or not, that level of power was enough to put them on alert.
Yet strangely, according to the intelligence they had gathered in Dawn City, there should have been no other regional powers east of Clear Spring City all the way to the Sunset Province.
At most, there were a few scattered small survivor settlements.
Though they were not few in number, they clearly lacked the capability to manufacture such weapons.
Heding said in a low voice.
"I suggest changing our direction. Before entering the Sunset Province, we should avoid getting involved in regional conflicts if possible..."
Yunsong pondered for a while, then nodded.
"Mm."
Northwest of Ruigu City.
