After ending the call with The Alliance, Li Ke immediately sent a communication request to the Legion. After it was reported through several layers, he finally got in touch with General Griffin, the Legion's commander-in-chief in Sunset Province.
However, when he presented the proposal he had prepared, Griffin's answer was completely unexpected—
"Dream on." Looking at the face in the holographic projection, Griffin gave a cold sneer.
Li Ke froze for two seconds before trying to persuade him.
"You have no chance of winning anymore. If you sit down and negotiate now, you can still keep Oasis No. 2."
Griffin stared at him for a moment, a mocking curve appearing at the corner of his mouth.
"Do you think that oasis is what we need?"
Li Ke pressed his aching brow.
Negotiating with the Legion was far more difficult than negotiating with The Alliance.
He believed he had done enough research and preparation, yet the terms he offered had still failed to interest the other side.
He could not help feeling a trace of frustration.
"Then what exactly do you want? We can talk about it, can't we?"
"What do we want? Hahahaha."
As though he had heard an especially amusing joke, Griffin suddenly burst out laughing. Only after a long while did he look at the man before him and continue in a sarcastic tone.
"People like you, still weighing the pros and cons, will never understand."
Without waiting for the person on the holographic screen to speak, Griffin casually waved his right hand and abruptly cut off the communication.
"You don't need to report any more calls from the Academy to me."
The bodyguard in ballistic armor respectfully saluted.
"Yes!"
Griffin nodded calmly.
"Dismissed."
The bodyguard turned and left the tent.
Only Griffin remained in the spacious tent.
