After staying in an air-conditioned room for too long, I caught a minor cold. It wasn't convenient to go to the hospital, and after dragging it out for a while, I developed a slight fever. When I got up, my mind was foggy and my limbs felt weak. My heart immediately sank—I probably wasn't getting today's update out.
Sure enough, I tried writing several times this morning, but nothing felt right. I could only sleep first and write afterward.
I'm taking a day off to rest. I'm truly sorry!
The River Valley Province arc still needs a few more chapters to wrap up, including the crew of the Pioneer, "Vault 0," the reactions of all sides after the war, and the changes this long-running war brought to The Alliance and the powers in the southern River Valley Province... Well, it actually didn't last that long. The timeline only advanced half a year. Boss Xia and Little Fish, who went offline, have probably just finished studying advanced mathematics.
I'll make up for this leave. It shouldn't be a problem before the end of the month.
I still plan to work harder and update more. There's simply too much to write—"east, south, west, north, and center" all need their turn, and I might even write about the skies someday, about "another wasteland" five light-years away... If I write too slowly, it feels like I'll never finish. It would be such a shame to rush past some interesting settings and characters.
Also, Pangolin probably won't be able to go home this time. Just as Little Feather's appearance was largely meant to connect the southern storyline and pay off the foreshadowing laid long ago concerning Vault 117, Vault 404, and the "mutant players," Pangolin is meant to connect the western storyline later on.
But
