A post that had suddenly appeared sparked quite a heated discussion on the forums.
Rampaging NiuNiu: "Big news! A batch of discounted secondhand machinery has appeared in Boulder City! Lifestyle-class players who are interested should keep an eye out! DM me ASAP if you need a purchasing agent! Great prices, first come first served!"
The poster was a merchant player who had spent years hanging around Boulder City. He loved business simulation games like "The Great Navigator" and "Sea Trader King." He had no hobbies outside of that and especially hated grinding levels, preferring to run between markets and profit from price differences.
There was room for arbitrage in buying goods cheaply with silver coins and transporting them to Boulder City for chips. That was normal gameplay, not some kind of bug exploit.
However, it was also true that Boulder City's purchasing power had been getting worse and worse. Goods usually sat in his hands for a long time, and only luxury items like bionic prosthetics sold relatively well.
A few months ago, he could directly exchange the chips he earned for silver coins. Later, after The Alliance signed the loan agreement with the Boulder City Bank, the bank's money printer was forcibly switched on and began flooding the market with liquidity. The Alliance no longer lacked chips at all. By now, the Alliance Bank could only exchange two silver coins for one chip. Exchanging one earned chip for two silver coins was out of the question.
On the black market, the exchange rate between silver coins and chips had simply flipped around. It took two to five chips to buy one silver coin.
Before long, The Alliance's official exchange rate would probably be adjusted as well. The only reason it had not been changed yet
