"Wait! Don't ask about the manuscript yet!" Facing the surging crowd, Sberg seemed to have guessed what they were about to say and immediately shrieked, "I have something important to tell you!"
"Hurry up! Stop rambling," Lovett urged, throwing an arm around his shoulders. "You said you were going to the northern outskirts, and now you've been there. What about the rest of the story? How's the chapter on the Great Revolution coming along?"
"What I'm about to say is even more important than that!"
Pushing Lovett's hand away, Sberg motioned for everyone to quiet down. After clearing his throat, he said,
"He let me try on his power armor. That thing really was extraordinary... Even someone built like me could gain the strength of a giant while wearing it!"
An electrician could not help but say,
"Unbelievable... He really let you wear it."
The other workers also joined in with teasing jeers.
"I don't believe it! Didn't your coat stink him to death?"
"Exactly!"
"You're full of it!"
Sberg did not take their teasing to heart, because he knew the truth could not be faked, and a lie could not become true.
"Believe it or not, that gentleman was actually very easygoing. He didn't fuss over such things. Though his guard was a little intimidating—that young man kept staring at me, and I didn't even dare ask to borrow the bathroom... But that isn't the important part."
Lovett swallowed.
