"Mr. Li Minghui, we're friends, aren't we?"
Li Minghui, who had been drinking tea and watching dramas in the presidential office, suddenly received such a strange "harassing call."
The reason he called it a harassing call was not because of the caller's identity, but because the guy had called through the internal line just to ask such an inexplicable question.
It was no different from his bed partner suddenly texting him during work hours to ask whether he still loved her.
"Of course... Did something happen during the exercise?"
He subconsciously glanced at the schedule. Aside from the Alliance's Burning Corps holding a landing exercise on the northern beach today, there did not seem to be anything worth mentioning.
However, Fang Chang's next words caught him off guard.
"Not at all. The exercise is proceeding smoothly. I simply noticed that you intend to sell the Empire a battleship similar to the Seacliff. This call may be unnecessary, but I still wanted to confirm something about its main gun. Shelters are relief organizations, and we do not wish for technology we excavated to be used for—"
"Oh—, that," Li Minghui said in sudden realization, then chuckled. "You don't need to worry about that. We have no interest in making trouble for ourselves."
Wasn't this guy a board member of North Island Heavy Industries? How could he not know about a military sale this big?
What was the point of asking something he already knew—
Wait.
Li Minghui suddenly realized something.
Could it actually be the Alliance's Manager making the inquiry?
The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed. With Mr. Fang Chang's intelligence, he could not possibly fail to see something so obvious.
After all, this was not a deal the South Sea Alliance could decide on unilaterally.
