In the wilderness west of Golden Gallon Port, a group of Velanders in prison uniforms were working at a construction site.
As one of The Alliance's little brothers, Golden Gallon Port had inherited The Alliance's glorious tradition: prisoner-of-war camps were always built by the prisoners themselves, and they moved in whenever the construction was finished.
Here, there was no distinction between centurions and ten-thousand commanders. There were only guards and prisoners.
Even Woolf had to do the same work as the soldiers.
At the entrance to the POW camp.
A soldier on duty sat on a bench with one leg crossed over the other, reading a newspaper in his hands. Suddenly, he could no longer hold back and burst into curses.
"Such fucking trash!"
On the newspaper's front page was a line of glaring black letters against a white background.

Half a month ago, the headline printed there had still read: Great Victory in Akale County.
In just half a month, that fool had thrown away the advantage he held.
And that wasn't even the most infuriating part. The content of the article was worse!
The 50th, 51st, and 52nd Divisions, each a ten-thousand-man unit, had suffered more than half their strength in casualties, while the Death Corps had been completely wiped out!
If the 11th and 3rd Divisions hadn't gone north to reinforce the Mammoth Kingdom, but had defended alongside those three reinforcing divisions, how could they have been routed so badly by the Legion?!
Calling it reinforcement was a stretch anyway. Who didn't know the Southern Legion's target was Heaven Capital?
Heading north under the pretense of supporting an ally at a time like this was clearly just a way to preserve their own core forces, then circle back after
