Hoover Dam had now become a battlefield. For the time being, the U.S. military did not dare use weapons of mass destruction here. The reservoir still held an enormous amount of water, and if the dam collapsed, the downstream casualties would be impossible to estimate.
Of course, as time passed, this restraint would vanish along with their patience. The U.S. military would not hesitate to use weapons of mass destruction.
Do not think that, just because this was American soil, they would not dare do it. If there were no other options, those in power would make that decision without hesitation.
