Early the next morning, Clark put on his suit and went straight to the US Military Base.

To be honest, Clark was very unhappy about it.

Although he knew it was inevitable, Clark still disliked it immensely. Besides, he truly had a strong affection for Lois now.

Filled with displeasure, Clark headed straight for the American military district.

Floating in the air, Clark showed no concern as he watched the US military point all kinds of weapons at him.
Human weapons could not threaten him—at least, not American weapons.

Since they were afraid of him, Clark could only appear compliant. He landed directly on the ground and allowed the US military to put handcuffs on him.
Those things might have been useful against humans, but to Clark, they were hardly sturdier than rubber toys. Still, he did not break free. Instead, he obediently got into a military vehicle.
Having lived here for decades, he knew these people's nature very well.
Clark's plan was to first come to the US Military Base, make his attitude clear to the military, and see how they viewed him. He would have them release Lois, then make contact with General Zod.
