Background / History

Dang Zhongcheng attended a police academy and was a sophomore when the zombie-virus outbreak began. Noah's initial scan also recorded him as the Yanxia Regional Taekwondo Champion and noted his “Dual Cultivation of Psychological Combat.” 241

His older brother was Xu Ruoxi's comrade-in-arms and died in sacrifice. Xu Ruoxi cared for Dang Zhongcheng for a time before he entered the police academy, establishing a long-standing bond between them. 241

During the early apocalypse, Dang Zhongcheng kept his dying mother alive through the first nights of the outbreak. He later admitted that, without the need to protect her, he would have killed himself on the first night. He joined Li Chen after the Star-Level Shelter agreed to treat her, asking only that Xu Ruoxi look after her. 241 261

Personality

Dang Zhongcheng is intensely filial and regards his mother's safety as the reason he continues to live and fight. His gratitude toward Li Chen becomes a defining source of loyalty, and he repeatedly seeks to repay the shelter through dangerous assignments and front-line service. 241 243 707
