"What did that old man tell you?" Alvin asked.
Shen Yi shook his head.
"Nothing much. Just some minor advice. More importantly, this region is ours for the taking now."
Alvin's eyes flickered. "Are you sure? The Black Fog infiltration still hasn't been dealt with."
"The Flame of Continued Combustion can purify it. It's simple," Shen Yi said with certainty.
"Besides, I need a place like this now."
He didn't explain why, and Alvin didn't press him.
In the distance, many Authority Holders watched from afar, but not one dared enter the Broken Universe to provoke them again.
Over the next few days, Shen Yi used the core region as an anchor and began building his domain.
The process was far harder than he had expected.
Although the rules were highly concentrated in this cosmic wreckage, it was also the most unstable region. Turbulence in the rules erupted frequently, and small spatial rifts opened every few hours.
Shen Yi's Flame of Continued Combustion could indeed purify the scattered traces of Black Fog that seeped in, but the constant drain slowed his progress.
Fortunately, while Xilos's Flame of Continued Combustion was not as pure as Shen Yi's, she could still shoulder some of the burden.
Alvin kept watch for other unstable factors and helped Shen Yi stabilize the spots he had overlooked.
After all, Alvin had run the Mechanical Divine Domain for years and had considerable experience turning broken universes into stable domains. His methods leaned more toward machinery and imposing rules, unlike Shen Yi's direct use of Authority to reshape the area. Combining the two approaches, however, greatly improved their efficiency.
By the fifth day, the core region was roughly stable. Turbulence in the rules no longer erupted without warning, and spatial rifts had become infrequent enough to manage.
