"?"
Shen Yi had not said a word. Ever since Natalie described that ancient Authority, his expression had darkened, and the two women beside him looked much worse as well.
"Has it really never appeared before?"
Xilos was puzzled.
Such a powerful force should have had an absurdly vast range of influence. If anyone had been affected by it, it would have been difficult not to notice its existence.
Especially at Shen Yi's so-called "god" level, where he could directly sense the locations and Authorities of other gods from such a great distance. How could no one have ever noticed the wielder of such power?!
"This is another issue regarding that Authority."
Hearing Xilos's question, Natalie's face was filled with complexity. Even she was reluctant to believe what she was about to say. After all, it was merely a rumor. She had never seen it herself, nor had she heard of any gods close to her encountering similar power.
"Just say it."
"What else could possibly surprise us now?"
Shen Yi spoke blandly. Given how much he could accept now, he would not be too surprised unless one of his former women suddenly came out and claimed to be a man—though that assumption was fundamentally impossible.
"It is not that it has never appeared. Other Authorities all have some sort of approximate anchor. For example, the Lightning Authority I wield can recreate the natural laws of this planet, even manifesting the lightning power you understand. Even something as intangible as the Authority of Time has records of manifestation. But an Authority like fate has never done so."
"Though people have explicitly mentioned its existence, no one has ever seen that power truly appear in a meaningful sense."
"If no one has seen it, how could they be sure it exists?"
