Background / History

Winnie originated as a fragment severed from the Authority Holder Mia during a severe crisis. Contaminated by the Source of Black Mist, the fragment drifted away rather than dispersing, gradually developed independent consciousness, and formed Authority traits distinct from Mia's own. Mia nevertheless left a concealed Tracing Imprint within the fragment, intended to monitor and eventually retrieve it after purification became possible. 1063 1072

Before recovering an independent form, Winnie attached herself to Shimada Yukimi and used Yukimi's body as a vessel. She could forcibly take control for short periods, though she did not normally do so; she also shared power with Yukimi after the latter received Polo Sha-derived strength. 679 824

Her memories were severely fragmented—less than five percent remained at one point—and she initially did not know the nature of her own Authority. Lilith first considered her likely to be an independent Authority Holder rather than an avatar of one of the six powerful beings Beyond the World.
