"Kirigakure? Is Hoshikage's headquarters there?"
Moriyue found it hard to believe. It was not that Kirigakure could not conceal Hoshikage's members; he simply did not believe Orochimaru could trace their headquarters based solely on the scant rumors Hoshikage had recently revealed.
That was simply absurd. Although he was not entirely clear on Hoshikage's organizational structure, he still believed an organization with so many powerful members would not leak information about itself so easily.
With the power of Talismans and so many formidable members, an organization that large could only function normally if it paid close attention to every detail.
There had to be specialists handling every aspect. Orochimaru might be able to obtain some information about the organization, but there was no way he could directly locate Hoshikage's headquarters.
If he had found it, it would be like a computer repairman discovering a country's top-secret documents inside a computer sent in for repairs. Or like someone hiding their most confidential files in their beloved garage. It was utterly ridiculous.
Wait? You said things like that had already happened before? Never mind, then.
Under Moriyue's suspicious gaze, Orochimaru did not answer directly. Instead, he spoke mysteriously.
"It is not what you think. Kirigakure is indeed connected to Hoshikage, but it is not their headquarters. Still, there are some very interesting things there. It is highly likely that Itachi's corpse is being stored there."
Orochimaru clearly knew far more about Kirigakure than Moriyue and the others. After all, he had identities everywhere. In the past, he had often infiltrated various countries and taken part in their classified research projects, so it was not surprising that he knew so much.
With their destination decided, the rest of the journey became simple. There was nothing more to say; the group headed straight for Kirigakure.
