Background / History

Moriyue awakens beneath the Hidden Cloud Village after transmigrating into the dying body of a sixteen-year-old civilian. The body's original owner had lost his parents during the Eight-Tails' rampage, lacked the talent to refine chakra, and had fallen from a mountain while gathering herbs. Moriyue inherits those memories while retaining knowledge of the Naruto world from his previous life. 1

He discovers the Dog Talisman and implants it in his heart for protection, gaining immortality but not freedom from injury, pain, or exhaustion. After returning to the village, his civilian status causes him to be neglected at the hospital and made into a forbidden-jutsu test subject. The experiment gives him Life Burning, beginning his pursuit of dangerous techniques that ordinary shinobi cannot safely use. 1 2 3

Darui recruits him after witnessing his willingness to destroy himself in battle. Yugito Nii subsequently becomes his instructor, training his body, swordsmanship, and Nintaijutsu while repeatedly warning him against relying on Forbidden Jutsu. 5 8 9

Moriyue is initially a fair-skinned youth whose body is left severely damaged by his fall. Training later gives him defined, lean musculature, while repeated use of forbidden techniques and transformations makes his appearance highly variable. 1 9

Personality

Moriyue is resilient to an extreme degree. Although he does not fear death because of the Dog Talisman, he still experiences pain and deliberately trains himself to endure it. He approaches suffering as a price for knowledge, treating injuries, mutilation, and forbidden backlash as practical obstacles rather than reasons to retreat. 6 20 55

He is intensely curious about jutsu theory and willing to test unconventional ideas. He studies forbidden scrolls, rebuilds his own chakra system, creates the Sea of People Jutsu for research, and seeks Sage Mode largely to expand his options in prolonged combat. 12 20 105 147
