From a distance, the strange beast appeared to have died not long ago. Yet it had been bound to a branch of a giant tree by several vines, hanging there dripping with blood.
"Is it storing food? Was this done by humans or other strange beasts?" Faced with such a bizarre sight, Gu Ding stopped at once and observed from afar.
But after watching for a while, he quickly noticed something unusual. The corpse seemed to be changing. Its blood was still dripping at first, but within just a few breaths, something appeared to drain it dry, turning it into a mummified corpse.
Then, the vines fell away, and the dried corpse dropped to the ground. It shattered directly into powder, which was then absorbed by the giant tree's roots and vanished completely.
Only then did Gu Ding understand. "There's something strange about both the vines and the tree!"
Having realized that, Gu Ding fired a Sword Finger at the giant tree from afar. This strike contained the power of the Metal Attribute and was meant to sever the tree. Gu Ding could use more than eighty percent of his two clones' abilities. Only a few ultimate divine abilities requiring an extreme attribute physique were beyond his reach; he could freely use all the rest.
Although Gu Ding had not used any divine ability with that strike, with his current True King Combat Strength, even a casual attack rivaled the power of a Main God divine ability. The giant tree was instantly cut in half.
Gu Ding then condensed a second finger strike and was just about to aim it at the python-like vine when the ground beneath his feet suddenly began to tremble.
