After a moment of silence, a voice trembled as it asked, "Is he the Koude Bulade with a bounty of 330 million Star Coins?"
The name Koude Bulade was known to nearly everyone in the Tianhe Star Region, and Gu Ding had heard of him too. This name had been famous long before Koude Bulade became an Interstellar Pirate; back then, he was a super-elite cultivated by the Cosmic Federation.
His life could practically be written as a legendary tale.
At seven, he was specially recruited into the Federal Basic Military Academy, completing three years of coursework in less than one year and graduating with a record-breaking score that shattered the star region's three-hundred-year benchmark, earning him entry into the Elite Class of the Federal Advanced Military Academy. Two years later, he graduated from the Advanced Military Academy with another century-breaking record. That year, he was only ten.
After graduation, Koude Bulade was recruited into the Elite Legion of the Federal Government for a year of special training. After a year of silence, he re-emerged. At eleven, he single-handedly killed the Interstellar Pirate Lu Ren, who had a bounty of 80 million Star Coins, and from then on, his rise was unstoppable.
Over the next five years, he killed three Interstellar Pirates with bounties exceeding 100 million Star Coins, the highest being 160 million. He personally sent over three hundred pirates with bounties over ten million into Federal Prison.
At sixteen, after multiple evaluations by the Federal Government, he was promoted to Vice Captain level in the Elite Legion, and his combat strength rivaled that of many Captain-level elites.
At eighteen, he was officially promoted to Captain level. Over the next seven years, he led his squad to eliminate eleven Interstellar Pirates with bounties over 100 million, the highest being 310 million.
At twenty-five, he was awarded the rank of Federal Colonel, becoming the youngest colonel in the Federal Government, with a boundless future ahead.
But in the second week after receiving his rank, he took on a secret mission. He vanished for six full months. When he reappeared, he had become an Interstellar Pirate. He brutally killed six Federal Colonels and one Senior Colonel, formally severing ties with the Federal Government.
No one knows what he encountered during those six months of disappearance. The Federal Government classified that mission as top secret, and even the most elite hackers could find no trace of information.
Koude Bulade's story left many with lingering questions, and his name became thoroughly known—not as a genius, but as a rebel.
After breaking with the Federal Government, Koude Bulade began forming his own Pirate Crew, naming it "Adjudicators." The Federal Government immediately slapped a high bounty of 200 million Star Coins on his head.
Now, only a year and a half since he formed his crew, his bounty had climbed continuously due to the trouble he kept stirring up, reaching 330 million. In one fell swoop, he became the Rookie King of the Tianhe Star Region.
Deep Sea Star, a place that had only been incorporated into the Federal Government for less than a century, was still in the early stages of civilization development and hard to find on star charts. Although pirates passed through occasionally, almost none had bounties over 100 million. The sudden appearance of such a big shot left the other pirates in the tavern feeling unsettled.
Before the crowd could recover from their shock, the tavern door suddenly burst open. Standing at the entrance were Federal Army soldiers.
The appearance of the Federal Army made many uneasy, since most people in the tavern were Interstellar Pirates. Pirates and the Federal Army had always been irreconcilable.
"Everyone, don't panic. Cooperate with us in the investigation. Those unrelated to this theft incident will be fine," the leading officer said, scanning the crowd. He had long managed the Red Light District and knew the Rose Tavern well, fully aware that the people inside were no saints. If he was too tough, these pirates wouldn't comply; if he wasn't tough enough, no one would cooperate.
"Captain, why not just arrest them all? None of them look like good people. I bet plenty are Interstellar Pirates," a young man beside the leader suddenly interjected.
The leading officer's heart sank. He knew this was going to cause trouble.
The young man beside him wasn't his subordinate but a graduating student from the Federal Basic Military Academy. His father was a Major in the army and also the officer's teacher. When the theft incident broke out, this kid immediately sought him out, insisting on coming to the Red Light District to see for himself. Helpless, the officer had agreed, telling him in advance to keep his mouth shut. Yet here he was, stirring up trouble at the worst possible moment.
At the young man's words, the atmosphere in the tavern grew tense. Many eyes flickered with cold killing intent.
Just then, a loud slam came from the back of the tavern, "Bang!"
After a few clicks of high heels hitting the floor, a massive figure appeared in the tavern.
"I step out for just a moment, and you little brats are raising hell!" Aunt "Rose" finally showed up, wearing a pair of blood-red Hate-the-Heavens High Heels, an oversized black leather miniskirt stretched shiny and round over her butt. Below, her thick white thighs revealed dark stubble visibly growing at a visible rate. Broad-shouldered and thick-waisted, she had a red fox fur draped around her neck. Her stubbly face, paired with bright red lipstick, was a sight to behold.
Her entrance drew everyone's attention.
"My tavern has expensive things. You want to fight? Fine. Break a plate, one billion Star Coins. Damage a table, ten billion Star Coins. Ruin my antique counter, one hundred billion Star Coins. If you smash something and can't pay, then congratulations—you'll become the owner of the Rose Tavern. Every night, I'll be very gentle..." At this point, Aunt "Rose" winked at the crowd, completely unaware that her raised pinky finger added not a hint of femininity.
After a brief silence, the crowd in the tavern fled.
"Auntie, you're amazing!" Gu Ding looked at Aunt "Rose" with admiration.
"Save the flattery, kid. You were two minutes and three seconds late today. Your pay is halved!" Aunt "Rose" said with a straight face, then twisted her hips and waddled behind the counter.
"That's not fair..." Gu Ding tried to explain, but before he could finish, she cut him off.
"Talk back? Two-thirds off!"
