"A single Substandard God Crystal contains a thousand times the energy of a Source Energy Crystal, and the quality of that energy is far higher as well. It is said to be a high-denomination currency used on the Main Plane. One is worth ten thousand Source Energy Crystals. Usually, only Tenth Sequence Heavenly Gods use them when attempting to break through the barrier to become a Main God. Using them normally would be far too wasteful. There's a small mountain of them in this Storage Space. That Heavenly God must have been preparing to use them for a breakthrough to Main God. Now they're all mine."

Gu Ding took out a handful of Substandard God Crystals. Each was only the size of a thumb, crystal-clear and translucent, with faint white divine essence lingering over its surface.

That divine essence was the fundamental reason why Substandard God Crystals were so much more valuable than Source Energy Crystals. Once it entered the user's body and accumulated to a certain degree, there was a chance it could trigger an epiphany.
