Gu Ding emerged from a dilapidated house looking thoroughly dejected. He had already turned several nearby houses upside down, but had found nothing.
"Looks like I really am no good at treasure hunts that require patience."
Looking up at a tower not far away, Gu Ding raised an eyebrow and bounded up it in a few leaps. From several thousand meters above the ground, he surveyed the distance.
"If I can't find any, I'll just have to rob someone else..." Standing on the ruined tower's pinnacle, Gu Ding looked around. Suddenly, he spotted a black speck darting out of a house in the distance.
"Target spotted!"
Gu Ding grinned and leaped from the tower, spreading his arms like a hawk that had locked onto its prey as he swooped toward the black speck.
The target Gu Ding had set his sights on was a prodigy of the God Race named Galawen. The moment Gu Ding began his descent, Galawen detected the incoming attack. His aura surged as he prepared to fight.
But as Gu Ding drew closer and Galawen made out his face, a chill ran down his back.
As a prodigious genius of the God Race, he was exceptionally familiar with the members of the Gu Ding Pirate Crew.
He had not merely heard about Gu Ding single-handedly killing two insectoid Main Gods and severely injuring their strongest Mother Queen. Through some secret connections, he had even personally watched footage of the battle recorded in a Clarity Stone Pearl. Only after watching Gu Ding fight had he realized that he had been a frog at the bottom of a well. He had spent the past few months training desperately before finally entering the Law Domain, raising his combat strength from Heavenly God Great Perfection to the one-star Asura level.
