Chu Han, speeding along at the very front, did not care whether the place he had entered was a forbidden zone. He went wherever there was a path. The passage on the right was completely different from the brighter parts of the cave; it was pitch-black, and its temperature differed drastically from that outside.
The moment Wang Cai entered, it shuddered. Jostled by Chu Han's relentless sprint, it asked, "Chu Han, why is it so cold in here?"
Chu Han immediately noticed the strange temperature as well. He ran through the passage, which offered only a single route, while constantly sensing his surroundings. "It gets colder the farther in we go. Outside, it was at least forty degrees. The temperature dropped ten degrees the instant we entered the passage, then another ten degrees by the time we got here. We've only covered a few hundred meters."
Wang Cai cowered in Chu Han's pocket, too terrified to move. "What kind of strange place is this? Where does it lead?"
At this point, nothing but darkness remained ahead of them. Waves of chilling cold kept rushing toward them, making even Chu Han, with the physical strength of a peak seventh-rank warrior, struggle to endure it.
"The temperature at the very end is probably around minus forty or fifty degrees," Chu Han said without slowing down.
"Then don't go in!" Wang Cai panicked. "We don't even know what's inside! If the Yan Family finds us, then they find us. At worst, we fight them!"
To Wang Cai, the most terrifying things were the unknown and the strange. Yet Chu Han was the exact opposite. The more something lay within reach for him to investigate, the less willing he was to let such an opportunity slip away.
