Duan Jiangwei and Luo Ming were frantic. Before the helicopter had even found a stable place to land, they jumped out of the cabin. There was almost no open ground around them; it was all occupied by people lying down.
When the two of them got closer, they finally confirmed that the tens of thousands of people lying there were undoubtedly members of the Wolf Fang Regiment.
Yet everyone was sprawled on the ground. The scene was frighteningly bizarre, and amid the deathly silence, only the sound of the helicopter's rotors gradually faded.
Duan Jiangwei kept scanning the surroundings, trying to find one or two people he knew. But there were simply too many people lying everywhere, leaving him nowhere to begin.
"Are they dead? Or...?" Luo Ming could not help asking.
Were they dead? Or unconscious? Why were they lying here so strangely, completely motionless?
That was the shared thought in both their minds. But shortly after Luo Ming spoke, the distant helicopter finally found a small patch of level ground and landed. At the same time, the whirring sound of its rotors slicing through the air vanished.
Without the rotors' whirring, the area became utterly silent. The deathly stillness left Luo Ming and Duan Jiangwei bewildered.
Then, Duan Jiangwei's ear suddenly twitched. He spun around and looked behind him.
The movement startled Luo Ming. "What is it?"
"There's a sound!" Duan Jiangwei's eyes widened as he spoke with a somewhat dazed expression. "It sounds like snoring."
Luo Ming froze. His first reaction was that he had misheard it; his second was that Duan Jiangwei had heard wrong.
How could there be snoring?
Could someone actually be sleeping here?
And sleeping so deeply that they were snoring?
But just as Luo Ming's disbelief rose, waves of snoring gradually began
