Background / History
Chu Han chose the name Wolf Fang while planning Anluo City’s military survivor base and its elite corps. His stated ambition was to build a force capable of proving its value to the military and eventually confronting the Zombie King. 315
The regiment was established as Wolf Fang Base’s central military force rather than a continuation of the former Wolf Fang Reserve Team. By the time the base was formally developing, the reserve organization had ceased to exist. 465
Its early soldiers were forged through sustained zombie-clearing operations and extreme training. By the time of the Wilderness Campaign, the regiment had become known for disciplined coordination, high casualty tolerance, and the ability to fight both zombies and Abominations. 542 548
The regiment’s authority is independent of Shangjing’s command structure. When Commander Mu attempted to assign it a role during the war against the Mysterious Family, He Feng explicitly stated that the Wolf Fang Regiment was not under the Commander’s control. 1555

Training and Doctrine
Wolf Fang training is built around real combat. Veteran soldiers train newcomers during zombie-clearing operations, and the regiment treats zombie killing as its most basic training difficulty. 644 1404
Its military regulations cover everything from posture to response procedures. The rules are severe enough to be described as harsher than those of the civilized era’s strictest armies, yet regular soldiers are expected to obey without exception. 953
Official membership requires background checks, basic training, at least two small-scale combat missions, and one medium-scale combat mission after graduation. 1834
Key doctrinal traits include:
- Absolute obedience in combat — soldiers execute battlefield orders immediately, including unconventional commands such as retreating before a mountain bombardment. 913 912
- Veteran-led integration — experienced soldiers mentor recruits until they can match the regiment’s fighting rhythm. 644 1403
- Stealth movement — thousands can travel in near silence while remaining in formation. 1281
- Preparedness training — the regiment conducts specialized drills, including earthquake-response training that later proves useful in a real crisis. 1382
- Small-unit coordination — cooperative combat, rapid formation changes, and mutual coverage are treated as the core of Wolf Fang warfare. 1819 1822
Gear Strangler Tactic
The Gear Strangler Tactic is a formation designed for low-tier New Humans and ordinary people to fight high-tier zombie hordes. Small groups form spaced circles with their backs to one another, creating a field of rotating “gears” that channels and grinds down approaching zombies. 1407
- The formation is practiced extensively before its deployment in a major battle. 1409
- It allows coordinated weapon strikes to destroy high-tier zombies that break through the front line. 1407 1409
- Allied soldiers can be integrated between Wolf Fang’s smaller formations and follow the regiment’s movement rhythm. 1407
Uniforms, Insignia, and Equipment
The regiment initially lacked standardized uniforms and protective gear; even disciplined regular soldiers wore mismatched civilian clothing. 953
By the expedition period, its soldiers wore black combat uniforms bearing only a wolf-head emblem on the chest. 1250
- Wolf Fang badge — a rare identity badge personally made by Lu Hongsheng and engraved with a unique identifier or codename. 1071
- “Wolf King” badge — Chu Han’s unique badge; no other holder exists. 1071
- Cold weapons — drawn from Yin Yang Valley acquisitions or forged by Lu Hongsheng, including later batches enhanced with special metal. 1409 1620
- Firearms and ammunition — supplied to the Shooting Squad through Wolf Fang’s research, technology, and forging departments. 1610
- Combat helicopters — Wolf Fang possesses more than one hundred black combat helicopters, used alongside its military operations. 1604 1610

Reputation
Wolf Fang’s early victory in the Wilderness Campaign becomes known across China, drawing survivors and powerful New Humans away from other bases to Wolf Fang territory. 561
Its reputation rests on fighting stronger or more numerous enemies through coordination rather than numerical advantage. Wolf Fang personnel describe winning with fewer against more as normal practice. 1057
Other forces repeatedly recognize the regiment as China’s premier or strongest regiment, and its appearance is often enough to restore allied morale. 995 1343
The regiment’s sacrifices are also central to its image. Its fallen soldiers are honored by name and deed, and monuments are erected after major battles. 1660 1661
