It seemed more like they had used it as bait."

First, that Super Zombie unit had returned along the same route some time after leaving and found the traces left by the burned Second Generation Zombie. Such behavior was completely unlike that of ordinary zombies, immediately putting Xu Feng on guard. He had then led all of First Squad in pursuit.
