The path of True Arts took people as its teachers and techniques as its foundation.
Yet the path of the scriptures borne by these stone slabs seemed to take heaven and earth as its teachers, and the Great Dao as its root.
Suppressing the surging waves in his heart, Yang Jing steadied his mind, gathered every ounce of his mental focus, and carefully reached toward the three ancient stone slabs to study them.
As his consciousness drew closer to the slabs, the endless, mysterious runes flowing across their surfaces slowly shed their radiance and grew plain. The once obscure, disordered markings began to rearrange, unfurl, and take shape.
The next instant, human figures with crisply defined lines and precise movements slowly emerged on the smooth stone surfaces.
The figures assumed a variety of poses, blending motion with stillness: raising a hand, bringing down a palm, shifting about, or standing motionless. Every movement concealed exquisitely intricate pathways for circulating qi and profound principles. Their every gesture accorded with the rhythm of the Great Dao, perfectly natural and endlessly wondrous.
Beside, beneath, and around each human figure lay densely packed lines of tiny, ancient writing.
The characters were minute and tightly arranged, their strange, archaic shapes resembling a swarm of flying insects. Though scattered and seemingly fragmentary, every word was a pearl, every sentence a vessel for the Dao. These were annotations in Dao Script, accompanying the depicted techniques, explaining their scripture profundities, and recording the methods of qi circulation.
Every move corresponded to a passage of Dao Script, every form to a principle, every passage to a formula. A complete, vast, systematic body of scripture martial arts unfolded within Yang Jing's Sea of Consciousness.
The three ancient stone slabs floated quietly, their runes flowing with a lingering resonance of the Dao.
