Background and History

Qian Daoliu leads Spirit Hall's Worship Hall and protects his granddaughter, Qian Renxue. He allowed Bibi Dong to become Pope after the death of his son Qian Xunji, hoping to ease her hatred toward Renxue, while the Pope's Palace and Worship Hall generally kept out of each other's affairs 100 107.

His encounter with Di Tian and a godlike presence in the Star Dou Great Forest shakes his belief in the Angel God. He is told that the Angel God has fallen and that the God Realm threatens both the Angel Clan and soul beasts. When he later learns that Bibi Dong's Rakshasa God trial may require killing Six-Winged Angel soul masters, he begins questioning the forces behind Spirit Hall's troubles 50 100 107.

Believing Bibi Dong has killed Renxue, Qian Daoliu attacks and overwhelms her. Renxue arrives before he can kill her, and he assures her that he will remain her strongest support. He subsequently resolves to protect her path to godhood, even if it brings him into conflict with Tang Chen 100 102 161.

Qian Daoliu and Tang Chen later fight to a draw while both are below their best. As threats from the God Realm become clearer, Qian Daoliu cooperates with Gu Yuena and the Star Dou Great Forest for Renxue's sake and Spirit Hall's survival 163 354. He remains willing to defend Spirit Hall against the Clear Sky Sect, but refuses to let the Worship Hall attack the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 373 531.

Qian Daoliu has golden hair and wears white robes. In battle, his Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul manifests behind him, while Angel Divine Gear forms golden armor around his body 100 101 163.

Personality

Protective of Renxue and fiercely committed to Spirit Hall, Qian Daoliu will challenge powerful opponents rather than abandon either. His faith becomes less unquestioning after the warning in the Star Dou Great Forest, and he avoids discussing sensitive matters before the Angel God statue 50 107 161 373.

He can be stern with rivals yet respectful of their skill. He admires Chen Jianjun's sword cultivation, acknowledges the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's strength, and eventually admits defeat to Shizaki Kuang San without dwelling on his reputation 258 263 268. His longstanding feelings for Bo Saixi remain a source of emotional difficulty, although he refuses her request to investigate Spirit Hall 392 393.
