Conventional Soul Ring System

Soul Rings are normally produced when Soul Beasts die. They attach to a Martial Soul, provide Soul Power, and may pass on one Soul Beast skill or trait to the absorber. 3 22

Ring Age and Color

Ring color is not always a reliable indicator of a ring’s permanent state. Ning Rongrong can conceal rings, make them vanish, and alter their apparent ages by changing the True Qi infused into them. 8 30 407

Blank Soul Rings

Ning Rongrong’s self-created rings differ fundamentally from ordinary Soul Beast rings. She uses True Qi to imitate a ring’s structure and make it resonate with the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda. 3 77

History

Ning Rongrong first investigates Soul Rings after resolving the conflict between her Soul Power and True Qi. Sword Douluo captures three roughly four-hundred-year Soul Beasts for testing: a Soft Bone Rabbit, Blue Silver Grass, and Flame Grass Chicken. Ning Rongrong absorbs a ring, allows it to shatter, and then absorbs another into the same slot, proving that her system does not follow normal Soul Ring rules. 3

Her initial attempts at self-condensation are unstable; a temporary ring reaches purple before dispersing. After observing Xiao Wu’s transformation-related Ring Condensation, Ning Rongrong develops a stable framework and creates three 999-year rings, then advances them to Thousand Year rings through continued refinement. 4 8 9

After the Evil Orca King is killed, Ning Rongrong seals its Ten Thousand Year ring in her pagoda for Lou Gao. Lou Gao’s attempted absorption fails when the ring’s remnant will causes soul shock, but Ning Rongrong extracts and seals the Evil Orca King’s remnant soul within the pagoda. 77 82

Ning Rongrong later applies her knowledge to external Ring Condensation. She attempts to create a ring for Dugu Yan using the Ice Empress’s blood, Ice Jade Scorpion venom, and the resentment sealed inside the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda. She considers this fundamentally more difficult than forming her own rings because it involves creating a complete ring for another person. 498 499
