Lu Leng entered Spirit Hall as Bibi Dong's disciple and spent his early training focusing on precise Soul Power control rather than rapid advancement. In two months, he learned to contain Soul Power completely within his blade before releasing it on impact, shattering an iron stake with what appeared to be an ordinary strike 3.

His first Soul Ring came from a 7,000-year Thousand Jin Charging Elephant. Bibi Dong chose it for its offensive compatibility with Lu Leng's Zhan Luo Blade, while Chrysanthemum Douluo captured the beast and guarded the process 3.
