Kloze felt as though he might be hallucinating.

He had originally thought that, until winter ended, this place would remain a ruin, with dangers lurking at every turn.

That was why he had assigned men to patrol in shifts.

But after the lord returned from White Deer Fortress, this ramshackle, desolate village had somehow gained so many people overnight, along with warehouses piled full of grain.

He found it utterly unbelievable—could the lord have single-handedly robbed another village?

That would have been far too fierce!

If Ansen had not led the carpenters in clearing out so many ruined houses during the day, there would not even have been enough places to settle all those people.

And after the lord returned to Wheat Fragrance Territory that night, he did not rest for even a moment. He went straight into Kloze's tent with Sarah and Lesley...

—They did not come out for a full four hours, and candles remained lit inside the tent the entire time!

It was not until daylight had fully broken, when Kloze had finished his patrol and was preparing to rest, that he saw the lord crawl out, stretching and sporting dark circles under his eyes.

That satisfied, smug expression made him look as though he had just solved some enormous problem.

When Sarah and Lesley emerged behind him, both looked quite pleased, yet utterly exhausted.

Sarah even skipped breakfast and went straight to catch up on sleep.

The moment Lesley left the tent, she began writing furiously. Kloze had no idea what she was writing, but she giggled foolishly from time to time as she wrote. Every so often, she looked up at the lord with the adoring gaze of a fan girl worshipping her idol.

The lord was truly incredible...
