Entering the City Gate

When he had first passed through the Hell Gate, Fang Zheng had indeed seen that absurdly enormous gate on the city wall.

But after using the shockwave from the exploding seal to blow the Ender Pearl away and teleport himself here, Fang Zheng could only confirm that he had reached the city wall.

As for whether the gate was to the left or right of his current position, he had no idea.

Even if he knew the direction, Fang Zheng's flying speed was still far too slow.

Watching the Golden Armored Golems scurrying about like mad, Fang Zheng was troubled. "If I switch from Spectator Mode to Creative Mode and these guys don't attack me, I could try spending some time breeding a faster-than-light horse for travel."

In Minecraft, there were many bugs—or perhaps they could also be called features.

For instance, the offspring of two horses had a chance of inheriting some of their parents' attributes, such as speed.

And by using Splash Potions of Swiftness, a horse's speed could be temporarily boosted. If it bred after being boosted and was fed food, its offspring could turn that temporary speed boost into an innate attribute.

As long as one had enough patience, a Block Horse in Minecraft could theoretically run faster and faster without limit.

Of course, theory was only theory. In the Minecraft game, it was still restricted by factors such as chunk loading speed.

But the place Fang Zheng had crossed into was most likely not some game, but a genuine world. He had indeed spent time breeding Light-Speed Horses.

However, looking at the Golden Armored Golems that still had not left and were continuing to search for him, Fang Zheng knew that finding the time to leisurely breed Block Horses would be rather difficult.

"Hmm, let me think..." After pondering for a while, Fang Zheng switched back to Creative Mode and watched the Golden Armored Golems immediately lock onto him and attack.

A roughly blue pixelated sphere appeared in his hand. It was a monster egg taken from his Inventory, capable of spawning a Screaming Vindicator.

Even as dense golden Rune Chains bound him up like a dumpling, Fang Zheng remained completely unaffected. His blocky arm phased through the barrier with a wave, and a Screaming Vindicator appeared beside him.

Although in the very next frame, this powerful Minecraft monster was effortlessly killed without any ability to resist, Fang Zheng confirmed something: these Golden Armored Golems probably did not distinguish between enemies and simply attacked everything equally.

So Fang Zheng came up with a plan.

He switched to Phasing Mode again and escaped the Golden Armored Golems' encirclement before switching back to Creative Mode.

At the same time, he threw a prepared Ender Pearl toward the other side of the city wall. Remaining where he was, he continuously spawned new monsters and waited for the Golden Armored Golems to discover and kill them.

The shockwaves produced by their constant attacks had no effect on him, but they could blow the Ender Pearl farther through the air.

After all, in the Minecraft world, Ender Pearls did not have durability. They were consumable items; once one was used, it was gone.

Unless it was thrown directly from the Inventory into lava in its miniature form and destroyed, an Ender Pearl held in one's hand and then thrown could not be damaged by anything.

However, shockwaves from explosions caused by things like TNT or End Crystals could blow it farther away. Only after it flew a certain distance and struck something would it teleport its thrower.

In the game, players also used this feature to build specialized cannons for launching Ender Pearls with various blocks.

With careful arrangements, they could teleport people absurdly far.

When Fang Zheng escaped the Four Symbols Killing Array earlier, he had used this very feature of the Ender Pearl to teleport himself to the wall.

And now, he was merely repeating what he had done before.

Thus, while the Golden Armored Golems' attacks were not as ridiculously exaggerated as those of the White Tiger and Vermilion Bird, their attack power was still terrifying. The shockwaves they created also propagated faster than light.

Though controlling the direction was somewhat troublesome, by continually throwing out monsters to draw attacks and using the shockwaves' gusts, one Ender Pearl after another was swept across the vast distance.

This allowed Fang Zheng to slowly advance from one side of the city wall toward the other.

After some time...

Looking at the city gate before him, still without any visible end, carved with dragons and phoenixes and covered in countless runes that looked even more powerful, Fang Zheng let out a sigh of relief.

"Although it took quite a while, I finally reached the main gate."

Maintaining the phasing state of Spectator Mode, Fang Zheng flew toward the massive gate whose end could not be seen.

"Even if this is a Xianxia World, there should be ordinary cultivators, right?"

"Ordinary cultivators need to travel too, so no matter what, the city gate should be thinner than the wall. Or maybe there should be some kind of transportation?"

Looking at the endless corner of the gate, Fang Zheng prepared to use Spectator Mode to see how thick it was.

After phasing through the gate, Fang Zheng breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness, thank goodness."

Under Spectator Mode's X-ray vision, Fang Zheng could see that the gate's thickness was not even in the same league as the city wall's.

If the gate's thickness were compared to a sheet of paper, then the city wall's thickness would be as absurd as an entire Earth.

The reason for this was probably the difference in materials between the city wall and the gate.

From Fang Zheng's Spectator Mode perspective, the opaque interior of the gate appeared to be a strange black metal filled with dragon-shaped patterns. Its internal runes looked far stronger and far cooler than those on the city wall itself.

"Maybe this gate is made from some rare and precious material? So even though it isn't as thick as the wall, its defense probably isn't any worse."

"If someone tried attacking the thinner gate, they would only find that its defense was far stronger than the city wall's."

"Not that it matters to me. Spectator Mode ignores it all anyway."

Although it took a full three days, Fang Zheng finally passed through the city gate and reached the other side.

He let out a breath. "Finally made it through. I've been flying nonstop for days—I'm almost going crazy. If it took any longer, I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from blowing up the gate."

Behind the city gate, Fang Zheng took a deep breath and looked excitedly at the scene beyond it.

He saw countless Metal Warships floating in the sky. From time to time, some of them started moving and flew deeper into the city.

But Fang Zheng felt like he was about to lose it. "Are these the transportation beyond the city gate? The style is a little... antiquated."
