103 Dragon's Majesty
In his memory, the Sirus race seemed to have produced a very powerful Armored Species Spellcasters who happened to serve the Crystal Tower civilization.
The Silus race is small in number, and there are few renowned Armored Species, let alone those who can use magic.
From a timing perspective, Lucite also fits the bill quite well.
When all three factors are combined, the probability becomes quite high.
Putting that aside, Li Aoz was also curious about Lucite's reaction.
How would he handle such an obviously unfair match?
Lucite naturally knew that he was no match for his opponent in a magic contest, and that even if he were to win by chance in this arena of public opinion, he would not receive respect or understanding.
If you lose, it will be even worse. You might not have to drop out of school, but you will definitely be unable to hold your head up in school for the next few years.
"Lioz, what do you think?"
Hobbes suddenly asked, "Which side do you think is telling the truth?"
"Whether it's the truth or a lie has nothing to do with me. As for what I think, I'll just stand here and watch."
Li Aoz casually pulled a bag of sunflower seeds from his jacket, already prepared to watch the show.
"...Uh, I mean, don't you think one of the positions on both sides is a bit off? Bei Chonggui Ming might be telling the truth, she was indeed harassed, but Lucite doesn't seem so innocent either, his reaction was a bit too calm."
"Based on my experience, the general public should not easily take sides. When you do not know the truth of a case, any breakthrough could lead to a reversal of the nature of the case."
Li Aoz skillfully cracked open the sunflower seeds. That's the good thing about Magic Civilization; the ingredients are all pollution-free, making them taste much better.
"Let's just watch the show."
Hobbes shrugged. Since his companion wasn't going to take a stand, he didn't bother to investigate the truth of the matter.
Everyone looked at Lucite, a man who had been at the very bottom of the moral low ground from the start, and would be criticized no matter what he said, but he always remained restrained.
Now that the woman has proposed a duel, he has no other choice.
Refusing a duel is tantamount to admitting that you're being entangled, and it will greatly diminish his impression of you.
If you accept the duel, the outcome will never be good.
In this situation, you can only say you're unlucky. You either have to accept your fate, apologize honestly, and admit defeat, or you can fight back in one fell swoop.
After a slight hesitation, Lucite opened his mouth and said, "I accept your decision—"
Before he could finish speaking, a cold voice suddenly rang out from the crowd:
"Get out of the way."
In that instant, the air seemed to freeze, a deep, muffled roar echoed in everyone's ears, and a heavy pressure enveloped everyone, causing almost everyone's heart to beat irregularly and their pupils to constrict.
The True Dragon's Might!
The students almost immediately hunched their shoulders and retreated. Even Hobbes turned pale and had difficulty breathing, but he managed to stand up.
Throughout the entire arena, only Li Aoz remained standing still, unaffected except for a notification popping up on the system indicating that the check had passed.
He had already transformed into a first-stage Elai Ling Race, a bloodline of Narrative-level Civilization, comparable to at least a celestial Dragon Kind, and not much different from a true dragon.
With [Autocratic] in hand, his 200 points of [Charm] completely overwhelmed everyone.
This level of intimidation is nothing to Li Aoz.
He turned his head, and the crowd immediately parted to form a path. The tall, blonde, golden-eyed girl was like a warship cutting through the waves. As a woman, she had sharp, angular features, making one wonder if even an iceberg would crash into her and be smashed to pieces.
A girl's beauty can mostly be described with positive words, such as beautiful, confident, generous, elegant, and healthy.
However, the first adjective that came to mind when Li Aoz approached the woman was: aggressive.
Her appearance exudes a unique aggression, with sharp features and eyes like molten gold: noble, fiery, and intimidating to approach.
"That Dragon Titan, Dia Lan ..." Hobbes whispered, "She's from the same academy as us."
Clatter, clatter, clatter! Dia Lan and Li Aoz brushed past each other, their eyes meeting briefly in the air. Dia Lan then turned his head away and strode forward, like a bayonet thrust into the dueling arena, bright and sharp, attracting everyone's attention.
Lucite then spoke up, "Excuse me, classmate—"
Bang! A sound like a cannonball exploding rang out, and Lucite was sent flying on the spot. His body slammed into the railing, the marble railing was smashed to pieces, his arms hung limply to the side, his head almost fell into the water, and a very distinct crater was deeply sunken into his chest.
Before anyone even saw how she made her move, Dia Lan had already headed Bei Chonggui Ming.
Seeing Lucite dealt with, the latter's previously suppressed mood immediately improved, and she thanked Dia Lan had come over, "Thank you for your help. That man was so awful, sister—"
Smack
Bei Chonggui Ming's face was immediately deformed and twisted by the slap. After flipping half a circle in the air, his whole body was embedded in the floor by the residual force.
Dia Lan stepped over her back as if a queen were stepping over the land she had conquered, and even though she was alone, it was as if a thousand troops were present.
As her figure receded into the distance, people seemed to instantly forget their original argument and duel, and went about their own business.
The terrifying atmosphere lasted for a full minute before dissipating, and the suffocating sense of oppression would become a shadow, completely enveloping the minds of the freshmen, and it was unknown how long it would take to dissipate.
"Holy crap... is this the ultimate bloodline suppression?" Hobbes grabbed Li Aoz's arm, his legs still trembling. "I feel like a stellar-class warship carrying hundreds of fighter jets is crashing into me. It's terrifying. This is one of the four most dazzling rising stars of this year's Trivella High School..."
"Hmm," Li Aoz replied perfunctorily.
"What? You just 'hmm'ed? Aren't you scared? That's a hybrid of a dragon and a titan!"
Hobbes couldn't help but retort, "By the way, that girl just saw you, right? Your eyes met—how did you feel about that?"
"Oh," Li Aoz said.
"Don't be so perfunctory, or are you actually scared out of your wits?" Hobbes patted Li Aoz's shoulder. "Oh, it's alright, everyone's scared out of their wits. That's how it is with top bloodlines, there's nothing we can do about it. But in the path of magic, it's not just talent that determines the odds. As long as you're well prepared, even a god can be slaughtered by a magician."
"Okay." Li Aoz turned his gaze to the side.
"You're at least giving me some reaction!"
Hobbes was exasperated. "That's Dragon Titan! You were stared at by her for a full four or five seconds—did it cause you any psychological damage? Any lasting effects?"
"Ah."
Li Aoz exclaimed weakly, "How terrible, how horrible, I'm going to become depressed."
"Please, show some respect for Dragon Titan! At the very least, show some respect for me, the commentator!"
