Planet 254 Auction
Generally speaking, the legitimacy of star territories is not particularly important in the Abyss.
The emergence of Narrative-level Civilization has, to some extent, broken the dark period of the Age of Gods, a time when civilizations Reckless Plunder and attacked each other.
Business people know that when a new blue ocean market emerges, the lack of departmental supervision leads to a brutal scramble for territory. Only when operations stabilize and the hype dies down do people realize the importance of organizational order.
In the age of the gods, Narrative-level Civilization were just beginning. The Abyss-Outside Battlefield not only hadn't fallen, but were also extracting resources and population from within it. Against this backdrop, the various civilizations didn't feel anxious about the invasion of the Destroyers; instead, they competed with each other for the limited share of the finite universe.
For the Layered Abyss, Narrative-level Civilization emerged too late, which is why the Layered Abyss Interstellar Alliance, led by three narratives, was formed. This interstellar organization is obviously not a perfect thing, but at least it can barely maintain the current order.
Especially when it comes to issues of planetary sovereignty, the Interstellar Alliance is actually a very good mediator.
Unfortunately, none of this mattered to Crystal Tower, which had not joined the interstellar organization. What Li Aoz wanted was a sovereign planet recognized by the interstellar community.
In this world, those who are isolated and helpless, and those who turn their backs on mainstream ideologies, are not necessarily wrong, but they are definitely more susceptible to suffering and going astray.
Since we've decided to buy the planet, it would be better to go all the way and apply to join the Interstellar Alliance.
Li Aoz hopes to use White Candle Star as a springboard to send players into the interstellar universe in his own way, as this is the only way he can maximize his profits.
It should be said that the geographical location of White Candle Star is not bad. It is not in the core area of Crystal Tower. After all, the Crystal Tower Civilization is not stupid. It is natural that it has this consideration when it is willing to let go. It is impossible to give up important planetary territories.
Purchasing a planet doesn't require any qualifications. Having money, gaining the Crystal Tower's approval, and promising to sign a 3,000-year peace treaty are all things that don't matter. Li Aoz is very familiar with Dean Nastisha and has often used his status as her student to negotiate with others.
The real problem lies in getting the Interstellar Alliance to recognize it.
The full name of the Interstellar Alliance is "Cross-Interstellar Comprehensive Alliance Organization of Abyss Civilizations". It is essentially an NGO. According to its charter, there are five necessary conditions for accepting member states: (1) Applicants must be a civilization; at least have reached the level of interstellar travel and be able to independently leave their own star system.
The civilization here must at least be one with no dispute over sovereignty and a clear line of succession.
(2) Love of peace; needless to say, Li Aoz felt that he was not only a lover of peace, but also a master at mediating disputes.
(3) The obligation to accept the Charter;
This section primarily addresses attitudes towards [Society]. One cannot study knowledge related to [Society], cannot harbor [Society] citizens, cannot possess self-aware [Social Institution, cannot use military operations as a pretext to cooperate with [Society] in invading other civilizations, and must immediately report any encounters with [Society].
(4) Able to fulfill these obligations; (5) Willing to fulfill these obligations.
(6) Pay membership fees on time.
(7) A permanent councilor and spokesperson must be stationed at the Interstellar Alliance headquarters to provide immediate information on anomalies and [social] attacks.
Besides this, all sorts of messy proofs and reviews are necessary. Li Aoz must prove that his planet has no connection with [society], or at least that it cannot have any knowledge or technology related to the study of [society].
This is quite troublesome. Officials from the Interstellar Alliance came seven times, urging Li Aoz to spend a lot of money to clean up and remove all the remains of the [Machine World Society].
Fortunately, he had already sold off the Saint Core, making a profit while also clearing himself of suspicion.
Logically speaking, Li Aoz had defeated Mash Gergang, and his identity was that of a true citizen of the Star Abyss. He had never even been to the Star Abyss, and his race was the Elai Ling Race, a branch of the "Temple of Annihilation." It should have been a very easy victory for him.
However, the actual situation is not optimistic. The White Candle Star is not only visited by the [Machine World Society].
The councilors of the "Hidden Society," including Ya Wen, have visited three times already. Li Aoz had to go to great lengths to find those hidden strongholds and council ruins that had been abandoned for thousands of years and remove them.
This took him quite a long time.
In addition, he spent a lot of money to make connections with Narrative-level Civilization civilizations, including some high-ranking officials and dignitaries.
However, when Li Aoz opened the auction website and saw that all the indicators were met and the information was complete, he nodded with satisfaction.
It was all worth it.
With the auction starting in a few minutes, Li Aoz sat in his office, tapping lightly on the table and glancing at the auction list.
The organization responsible for the auction was the Planetary Resources Department of the Crystal Tower Civilization. This time, they released not only White Candle Star, but also hundreds of other planets that had undergone preliminary colonization or only had primitive ecosystems.
Li Aoz looked around and found that the Planetary Resources Department hadn't done much publicity, and the buyers they invited were mostly academics and well-known large workshop owners, much like the tycoons and Industrialists of Azure Planet. Basically, it was all prepared for their own people.
"Thousand Vine Pharmaceuticals, Phantom Demon Maglev, Stone Carved Weapons... they are either high-tech syndicates or heavy industry Torras. The workshop owners are all graduates of prestigious universities on the Crystal Tower's home planet. In essence, this auction is still handled internally—it seems that the Crystal Tower is still wary of outsiders."
He looked at the data on several planets for sale. Although the biodiversity of many planets was limited to paramecia, some of them had developed green plants and carbon-based animal groups. Some of them had even developed to a level of civilization similar to that of the Middle Ages, with both technological and Magic Civilization.
The Crystal Tower Civilization showed absolutely no Daoism towards the natives of these planets who had never left their home planet and had not even entered the Industrial Era.
Although they have their own language and writing system, as well as social systems, and understand art and record history, from a cosmic perspective, they are still at the level of 'ancient apes'. Their only function is to add a sentence to the introduction that "there are natives inside, with qualified intelligence, who can be modified for labor," so that they can sell tens of thousands Ammonium Gold.
If it doesn't even reach the level of a feudal dynasty, and is still a tribal chieftaincy, then it's probably only worth a few thousand Ammonium Gold at most. Even so, Li Aoz has seen many buyers' comments complaining that it's too expensive.
Tens of thousands of Ammonium Gold, which in the universe is equivalent to the appearance fee of a Zeta-rank mercenary for a week, can buy tens of millions of carbon-based life forms with their own language and culture, rich history, and the ability to forge plate armor and muskets.
Unfortunately, this is the standard for the universe.
Li Aoz actually discovered that the Racial Talent, at least better than the New Generation Homo Sapiens on Azure Planet, and they even knew some magic.
Unfortunately, he didn't have enough money to buy other planets.
He looked at today's target: White Candle Star, and made a grand finale sale.
The estimated price is around 80 million Ammonium Gold, but anyone with a discerning eye knows that selling a planet that has regressed to the atomic age at such a price is simply outrageous.
The Merton Star ahead has a population of five billion, is currently engaged in a space race, has a nuclear arsenal of at least five or six thousand, and a total population of only 20 million. It also comes with supporting magical fortress facilities.
White Candle Star isn't necessarily much better than Merton Star, and its upper limit is limited to Zeta-rank, yet it's priced four times higher.
"This price is a bit risky..."
Li Aoz squinted:
"It seems that Crystal Tower is trying to make one last big profit."
I organized my plot ideas today, took a short break, and will continue tomorrow.
After the Caramel Snail race storyline, we have actually entered the second half of this volume.
It's not that the Sougen chapter is too long; it's because the previous volume didn't explain the important points well before rushing into space.
While writing today, I kept looking back. A major problem with the Sky Ring Scroll is that it drastically compressed the storyline on the ground, severely reducing the player's storyline and resulting in insufficient interaction between Li Aoz and the player.
It's not just one player; several main characters haven't had their storylines written out.
Back then, many people were urging me to go to space, but after I got there, they stopped watching. Now I have to go back and fill in the gaps in my memory.
