337 Frostplate Boxing, Secret Technique!
Harlowe was momentarily bewildered.
As a carnivorous Treant, his thinking ability is actually not much worse than that of the Cosmic Human Race. After all, he has risen to the Zeta-rank (6), so he still has some knowledge and experience.
However, Li Aoz's set of boxing techniques from Frostplate was characterized by its ability to seize the initiative from the start. The first to be affected was his hearing; under the echo of the Gravity Wave, Li Aoz's voice lingered in his wooden head like reverberation.
"As a hunter and a businessman, you have no sense of public morality whatsoever. You even deceive your comrades on the battlefield. Have you given your conscience to Red King for Ammonium Gold? If I hadn't exposed your true colors this time, who knows how many more people would have been deceived by you!"
As Li Aoz spoke, he stomped his feet, making noises that constantly interrupted his train of thought.
"That's not how it works. All my items are genuine products from reputable institutions. They'll disappear as soon as they get to you."
Harlowe panicked, and in a flash of inspiration, quickly said:
"You stole my goods, didn't you? You've ruined two organizations in a row, give my organization back right now!"
"Who would want to steal your things? Help! Family, does anyone understand? This guy down below is actually saying I'm spreading rumors and slandering him. How could I, a boy, joke about my innocence!"
Li Aoz slowly and deliberately, leveraging the advantages of the [Echo] to allow more people to hear their conversation.
It's in the nature of civilized beings to love watching a spectacle; Li Aoz held onto Harlowe tightly, the crowd drew ever closer.
"What are they doing over there? That guy's pretty handsome, can I take a picture of him secretly?"
"Be careful, only men are allowed to take photos secretly. You, a woman, are trying to get sued for sexual harassment by taking photos of men?"
"I listened for a while, and it seemed like a Silver Hunter from the Abyss was arguing with a vendor."
"I remember that Treant. The quality of his stuff was really mediocre. I heard that he once stormed into a temple and called on the monks not to eat vegetarian food."
"What the heck, extreme plant rights activists? What's the difference between them and terrorists?"
With so many people around, Harlowe, a familiar local face, was quickly recognized compared to Li Aoz, who was new to the Hunter universe. People started discussing Harlowe's dark past.
"I've heard that plant rights activists often assassinate vegetarians! Just because they harm cultivated plants!"
"That's terrifying. Luckily, I'm a shark-man and I never eat vegetarian food."
"Is this really that outrageous? Surely I can eat carbs, right?"
"Carbohydrates are also obtained from plants, such as wheat, cassava, potatoes... including some carbonated drinks."
"What? Someone doesn't like carbonated drinks? Then he's definitely not a good person! Carbonated drinks scandal."
As the discussions around him grew increasingly absurd, Harlowe began to panic:
"That's not true! Don't listen to his nonsense—he's slandering me!"
"With such a blockhead like you, it's hard to believe you." The surrounding crowd said one after another, "Look at that young man, he looks like a gentleman, upright and handsome. You look like a lewd and perverted person."
"Besides, look at him, he's Silver Hunter."
Someone pointed at Li Aoz:
"This young man has reached the level of Silver Hunter at such a young age. He speaks clearly, is skilled in both literature and martial arts, and is very handsome. Do you think someone with his status would slander a middleman like you?"
"I'm not slandering anyone! It's this Treant merchant's trick! As long as someone buys his organization, it will definitely disappear into thin air before long."
Li Aoz looked righteous.
"You're lying? If my things are gone, aren't I the one who suffers the loss?" Harlowe jumped up and down in a panic. "I don't care, I'll let bygones be bygones, just give me back the organization—you, you brat, where did you hide my organization?"
"Would I take your things?"
Li Aoz sneered. He took off his coat, stood in front of everyone, and spun around. "Look everyone, I don't have anything on me. This guy still accused me of stealing from his organization—please tell me, I only have this one piece of clothing on me, where am I supposed to steal from? Tell me, how did I take your things?"
He Dou Shou to prove that he had nothing on him:
"Then tell me, where did I hide the money I took from your organization?"
"Do you think I'm stupid?"
Harlowe sneered, "Don't give me that crap. Aren't we all Deified Person? Spatial items or magic can all temporarily store things."
"Then check if I have it on me."
Li Aoz spread his hands, emanating his bio-engineered aura. His secondary profession as a [Biochemist] granted him the skill to manipulate life energy. He could easily convince those around him with just a slight aura emanating from him.
"Watch closely!"
Li Aoz said in a strong voice:
"Open your eyes wide—I'm not a magician, the person standing in front of you is a legitimate [Biochemist]. How can I cast a spell?"
To increase his persuasiveness, he ripped off his cyborg head and held his breath to avoid disturbing the gray spatial ripples.
"Hmm, it really is a bionic body."
"Judging from this, it's definitely a biochemist."
"Hilarious! A [Biochemist] wouldn't know how to cast magic. He's not wearing any clothes, let alone any spatial equipment—a spatial storage station usable by the Zeta-rank couldn't possibly be small."
"That Harlowe guy is a scoundrel."
"I don't want to fight alongside people who don't understand honest business practices."
Harlowe panicked.
He was essentially a middleman, and although his profits were a few hundred million more, it didn't warrant being labeled as such.
Normally, he could have easily proven his innocence through a duel, but upon seeing the Silver Hunter badge on Li Aoz's chest, he immediately abandoned that idea.
No thanks, no thanks.
This is a ruthless individual who has truly fought to the death against the councilors of "Society" and has a record of repelling "Society" invasions. I am no match for him.
Harlowe himself was just an ordinary Zeta-rank (6), with no outstanding combat power. He made a living by doing some business in the Hunter universe and earning a profit. He didn't have the guts to fight against this tough guy who resisted [society].
But then again, he's here to do business and make money, so he can't just let an outsider bully him.
"No matter how good the quality of my product is, it shouldn't be so bad that I have to ask for it back after it's sold."
Harlowe seized an opening and immediately said, "Don't think that just because there are no surveillance cameras here you can frame someone at will—kid, I have quite a few buyers in this universe, and the items are all fine in their hands. How come they're gone when they get to you?"
"Oh, so you know you're in the wrong and are starting to confuse the issue, huh?"
Li Aoz glanced around and found that some of Harlowe's former clients were indeed discussing the matter.
But it doesn't matter.
One of the core principles of the Frostplate Boxing is: when the facts are in your favor, emphasize the facts; when the law is in your favor, emphasize the law; when both the facts and the law are against you, bang on the table and muddy the waters.
And Li Aoz is good at this.
