In just a few short hours, Tony Stark felt as if his worldview had been shattered.
The weapons he had believed would bring peace to the world had actually appeared in these terrorists' base.
For the first time, this made him question whether what he had done all these years had truly been right.
Could producing weapons really make the world more peaceful?
Meanwhile, over a thousand Fighting Wolves had all been released.
They had just been prepared and were ready for delivery.
Since research had progressed faster than expected, it was not yet time for delivery.
Bringing them out this time was the perfect opportunity to test their performance and show those buyers just how exceptional they were.
Noah had already been here for over half a month.
The area where Tony Stark might be was simply too vast. Even tireless biological weapons like the Fighting Wolves could not search it all in a short time.
However, the Fighting Wolves' search speed stunned quite a few people.
Over a thousand Fighting Wolves moved even faster than military helicopters, and more importantly, their searches were far more effective than those conducted by helicopters.
Thanks to the Fighting Wolves, the military had even uncovered several rebel strongholds.
Finally.
"We've got something!"
A staff member monitoring the cameras on the Fighting Wolves cried out excitedly.
Noah and Colonel Rhodes immediately looked over.
In a small mountain ravine, they saw a group of heavily armed rebels.
Although they could not be certain yet, the moment Noah saw the scene below, his instincts told him they had found the right place.
After seeing the footage, James Rhodes also realized that this group was unusual.
They had even spotted Stark Industries missiles on camera. Those were not something ordinary terrorists could get their hands on.
"Colonel Rhodes, get ready. We're going to pick someone up."
At that moment, Tony Stark was working at full speed on the armor.
The main body of the armor had already taken shape.
Yinsen assisted him from the side, full of admiration.
"That's incredible. You actually made something this huge out of all this scrap metal."
Tony Stark said nothing, but the curl of his lips showed that he was rather pleased with himself as well.
"It'll be done in two days at most.
Then we'll proceed according to plan."
Just as the two were discussing things.
Gunfire suddenly erupted outside, accompanied by shouts and cries of battle.
"What's going on?!"
The two hurried to look through the viewing slit in the door.
They saw the rebel leader shouting loudly, calling his men to head outside.
Knowing Tony Stark could not understand, Yinsen took the initiative to explain:
"He's saying that a group of dog-like animals has rushed in from outside, and everyone is being told to go reinforce them."
Dogs?
How could there be dogs in a place like this?
And judging by the situation, those dogs had already thrown the rebels into disarray.
After his eyes flickered for a few moments, Tony Stark made a decision.
"Yinsen, help me put on the armor. This might be our best chance."
"But the armor isn't finished yet." Yinsen had realized it too, but only the main body of the armor was complete. The most important faceplate had yet to be forged.
It would have been fine in a melee, but amid a hail of bullets, it was simply too dangerous.
Tony Stark naturally understood that as well.
But he still said seriously:
"This is our best chance. With the rebels in internal chaos, our chances of getting out will increase dramatically.
At the very least, we can't place our hopes on praying for those enemies the rebels call 'dogs' to win.
Besides, those enemies might not be good people either."
When he mentioned dog-like animals, Tony Stark's expression turned a little strange.
Because he had thought of someone he hated.
That guy made dog-like toys.
Could it really... be him?
Tony Stark's expression shifted slightly.
No, absolutely not!
He refused to be saved by that guy's toy.
"Yinsen, hurry."
The two hurriedly put on the equipment.
But this crude Iron Man suit clearly did not have such excellent performance.
It was not easy to put on, and the suit was still unfinished. Many parts needed adjusting before it could be worn properly.
After they had been busy for a while, the gunfire outside seemed to grow scarcer and scarcer.
Noticing this, instead of slowing down, they sped up.
Now that the plan had begun, they had no choice.
No matter which side won, they would definitely come in to inspect the place. There was no way they could keep it hidden any longer.
"Quick, faster, Yinsen."
"I'm trying!"
Yinsen was sweating profusely as well.
Just then, there seemed to be some movement outside.
Both of their expressions changed slightly.
At the same time, they prayed that whoever it was would come in a little slower.
But their prayers went unanswered.
"Hm? Is he inside? Get it open."
Tony Stark's expression changed drastically.
That was right. It was that guy he hated.
Damn it, what came next would definitely be the scene he hated most.
"Yinsen, help me take this off."
He looked rather disheveled. The armor was only half on; one arm had already been fitted into it, while the other was left hanging outside.
Although Yinsen did not understand, one look at Tony Stark's face told him that they should be safe.
And those people were speaking English.
Just then, there was a boom.
A small hole was blasted open where the door lock was.
A young man in a suit walked in.
"Yo, Tony. Long time no see!"
Noah grinned.
It was not easy to see Tony Stark looking this miserable.
As he spoke, he lightly tapped his phone.
Without a sound, the commemorative photo was taken.
Noah chuckled.
Tony Stark's face, meanwhile, turned livid.
That bastard had actually taken a picture of him looking so pathetic.
"Bastard, give me that phone!"
Tony Stark flew into a rage and tried to step forward.
But the armor, still not fully detached, blocked him.
Noah put away his phone and said to Tony Stark, "Let me interview you. How does it feel to be saved by someone you hate?"
Tony Stark said nothing, his expression only growing darker.
Beside them, Colonel Rhodes quickly said, "Alright, you two. This isn't the place to catch up. Let's get out of here."
With Yinsen's help, Tony Stark finally took off the armor.
Seeing Noah's interested look, he said smugly, "Kid, you didn't save me."
"In fact, once I finish this suit of armor, I can leave anytime."
"Really? With this pile of scrap metal?"
Though he said that, Noah was still deeply shaken inside.
Seeing it in a movie was one thing; seeing it in reality was another.
Under such terrible conditions, Tony Stark had still managed to create Mark I. All one could say was that he truly lived up to his reputation as a genius.
But of course, he couldn't let Tony Stark see the shock in his eyes.
This was a rare chance to mock Tony Stark.
And the result wasn't bad.
At least, Noah thought so.
