After the rain cleared, Kavell led a group of giants lazily basking in the sun.
After several days of nonstop rain, they were practically about to grow moss. They desperately needed some sunlight to mend their gloomy spirits.
"Kavell, stop sleeping.
We traveled light this time and didn't bring much food. The rain delayed us for so long that the army is about to run out of provisions."
At the words "run out of provisions," Kavell sprang to his feet.
One could tell from their size alone that giants had enormous appetites. If they did not get enough nutrition, they could not have grown so large.
Back in the Ice and Snow World, the greatest suffering of the giant race had been hunger.
They did not farm and relied entirely on hunting for survival. Their backward way of life meant giants could only live in small tribal settlements.
A giant tribe usually had no more than three hundred giants. Otherwise, there would not be enough prey nearby to feed everyone.
A food-gathering model centered on hunting was highly unstable. Under such circumstances, hunger had become a normal part of giant life.
"Pamela, what are you talking about?
Run out of provisions? Impossible!
There were so many carts of food. How could it be gone so quickly? Did you skim off our rations, you brat?"
For a race that had suffered hunger for so long, food was life itself.
Facing Kavell's hostile gaze, Pamela retreated three steps in succession before forcing himself to calm down and saying:
"Why are you yelling!
Don't you know why the food is being consumed so quickly?
Your appetite alone, Kavell, is dozens of times mine. With all you big eaters around, how could the supplies not disappear fast?"
As commander of the giant army, Kavell
