Background / History
Hudson is a member of the Coslo Family and a transmigrator whose thinking remains shaped by his previous life. At sixteen, he is permitted to lead troops into battle, but approaches warfare with survival as his first priority rather than reckless heroism 11 35. Early in his rise, he manipulates the fallout from Lesur's actions to damage his brother's prospects, then accepts Baron Redman's advice to conceal his strengths and act patiently 5.
During the rebellion war, Hudson builds his first force by selecting ten knight squires through endurance and combat tests. He later forms a temporary alliance among minor nobles, manages a chaotic supply convoy, and earns military merit through cautious battlefield decisions and increasingly decisive command 6 15 35 40.
His wartime achievements lead to his enfeoffment and the creation of the Mountain Territory. Its surveyed lands total 300 square kilometers, including part of Maple Leaf Town and fertile plains. Hudson expands its population by accepting refugees and later imports serf households, livestock, and grain despite taking on substantial debt 76 70 104.
Hudson's standing rises from Baron to Count of Wright County, while his military reputation grows through campaigns in the Moxi Duchy and against foreign races. He becomes the Coslo Family's head despite traditional succession customs not favoring him, largely because the scattered branches need his power and resources to stand as a great noble house 321 323.
In later years, he becomes Marshal of the Alpha Kingdom, leads major coalition forces, and develops the Snow Moon Territory into a base for military, commercial, and financial expansion. After centuries of influence, he grows detached from family disputes and continental politics, ultimately choosing to leave the continent after his final breakthrough 420 502 766 780.
Appearance
Hudson is described as average-looking rather than notably handsome. His appeal among noblewomen is attributed primarily to his strength, status, and rising reputation 151 181.
- His presence and position give him an aura that others interpret as confidence and power. 151 181
- He deliberately cultivates an image of youthful unpredictability to discourage rivals from testing him. 322
Personality
Hudson is pragmatic, calculating, and intensely focused on survival, influence, and long-term development. He measures military plans by their likely cost, avoids becoming cannon fodder, and treats wealth, logistics, talent, and population as strategic resources 13 35 294.
He can be manipulative when useful, from exploiting Chers's financial desperation to deceive Beldens into accepting a mutual-aid arrangement. He also uses bribery, selective honesty, and carefully managed appearances to navigate noble politics 15 35 53 476.
Despite this opportunism, Hudson places considerable value on reputation. He refuses Count Pierce's offer of a baronetcy and preferential fief treatment because exposing fellow nobles would violate his understanding of knightly honor. He likewise rejects the Moxi Duchy's attempt to recruit him away from his kingdom 43 248.
Socially, Hudson is capable of polished noble conversation but lacks confidence in romance. He becomes awkward when alone with Melissa and recognizes that his political status compensates for his limited romantic aptitude 103 256.
Abilities & Skills
Military Command
Hudson is an experienced commander known for turning poorly organized forces into disciplined formations and for prioritizing logistics, morale, and battlefield survival.
- Selects squires through physical endurance and combat tests rather than pedigree. 6
- Slows an overly rapid march to prevent his troops from being used as expendable vanguard forces. 13
- Uses food standards, high-intensity training, and battlefield experience to cultivate elite soldiers. 407
- Establishes the Mountain Territory Soldier Academy, screening more than 25,000 students through recurring eliminations. 480
- Proposes and receives approval to lead an elite force of 50,000 in a surprise attack against the Ancient Remnants Alliance. 413
Archery and Enhanced Perception
After the compass devours Soul Fire, Hudson gains enhanced perception that substantially improves his archery.
- Uses precise long-range shots to kill rebel commanders and throw enemy ranks into chaos. 40
- Supports the Fifth Army from the rear during the clash with the Skull Society's elite cavalry. 49
- Prefers targeted attacks and battlefield control over indiscriminate pursuit of routed enemies. 40
Magic and Bear Tribe Magic
Hudson possesses exceptional magical talent; a talent test drains a Magic Crystal Stone. He purchases meditation methods, incantations, Magic Crystal Stones, and a Tier 1 magic core to begin formal magical study 17.
- Learns Bear Tribe magic from Beldens rather than pursuing expensive conventional magical research. 118 414
- Bear Tribe magic can be cast instantly without incantations. 414
- His magical growth is constrained primarily by insufficient mental power, even when he can supplement magical power through other means. 414
- Avoids reckless high-level casting after accidentally burning his clothes with Skyfire Dance. 414
Potion Development
Hudson develops and mass-produces proprietary magic potions for military and commercial use.
- Offers potions capable of rapidly maturing magical beasts for noble magical-beast cavalry. 413
- Uses a compartmentalized production process so individual mages handle only one stage of potion manufacture. 480
- Treats potion production as both a military advantage and a long-term source of wealth. 413 480
Dragon Knight
Hudson is a Dragon Knight partnered with Maxim.
- Maxim drives off underwater magical beasts attacking Hudson's ship near Quebec Island. 322
- Hudson uses Maxim as a deterrent, and the dragon's presence causes nobles to reassess the Coslo Family's power. 322
- He can travel by dragon while concealing his presence with magic. 394
Divine Artifact Use
At eighth tier, Hudson can activate Divine Artifacts and openly uses the Holy Sword of Light.
- His compass reserves let him sustain a level of power that can be mistaken for a Sanctuary powerhouse. 607
- He does not rely solely on an artifact's inherent ability, instead wielding Divine Artifacts directly in combat. 400
- His exposure of the Holy Sword of Light becomes a major public display of his strength. 607

Story Role / Major Arcs
Rebellion War and First Rise
Hudson enters warfare as a young noble commander, forms a minor-noble alliance, and gains prominence through supply management, archery, and calculated battlefield leadership. His military merits place him on the path to a barony and an independent fief 11 15 40 62.
Development of the Mountain Territory
As Baron, Hudson converts an underdeveloped territory into a growing power base through immigration, weapons production, trade, military training, population growth, and careful use of noble connections. He becomes a prominent figure among nearby emerging nobles while repeatedly clashing with Baron Ciss, Baron Cayo, and Count Pierce's interests 104 114 120 138.
Moxi Campaigns and County Rule
Hudson expands beyond the Southeast Province through campaigns in the Moxi Duchy. He rejects attempts to poach him, receives major rewards for service, becomes Count of Wright County, and returns home as a Dragon Knight whose family can no longer be treated as ordinary minor nobility 248 321 322.
Marshal and Continental Wars
As Marshal Hudson, he commands and trains major reinforcement forces, negotiates military cooperation with other states, promotes magical-beast cavalry, and leads operations against the Ancient Remnants Alliance, Orc Empire, and other hostile forces 413 420 667 743.
Grand Duchy and Departure
Hudson ultimately retires from direct court politics, helps secure Caesar V's succession, and prepares the Snow Moon Grand Duchy as a semi-independent political entity for his descendants. Three centuries later, after reaching Sanctuary Fourth Tier, he refuses to involve himself in another generation's feudal disputes and departs to explore the world beyond the continent 766 780.
