"Quick!"
"Pick up the pace!"
Within the allied army, the various kings kept urging the troops onward.
According to news from the front lines, the enemy had launched their final offensive. These last few dozen miles would directly determine the fate of the besieged allied forces.
"King, the battle at the front has ended. The enemy has already changed course and headed south..."
Upon hearing this answer, Snow Eagle King's expression darkened. They had been only twenty miles away.
Without the slightest hesitation, Snow Eagle King hurriedly relayed the news to the kings of every race. The enemy had already fled, so there was no longer any point in forced marching.
Pursuit was out of the question. It had always been cavalry pursuing infantry, never infantry pursuing cavalry.
The allied forces had no organized cavalry units. It was not that the various races did not understand the importance of cavalry; they were simply trapped in a corner of the land and could not afford such gold-devouring beasts.
"Since the enemy has already left, let us set up camp first and give the soldiers two days to rest!"
Shadow King proposed.
Speed was paramount on the battlefield. Over the past few days, the allied soldiers had been desperately hurrying along, constantly breaking the alliance's marching records.
The price was that most soldiers with weaker stamina had fallen behind. For some races, even their entire tribal armies had been left behind.
They had rushed so desperately, only to come up empty-handed in the end. One could imagine how frustrated they were.
"Shadow King, I fear it is still too early to rest.
According to information from the scouts, the enemy did not massacre the captives... the wounded. There are still many wounded soldiers from the various races on the battlefield
