Romanus offered that final explanation as he presented it with both hands.
Ronan said nothing more and reached out to take it.
This aged, fluffy Paged Notebook had many rough edges and curled pages. It shared the same origin as the notebook Lady Luo Shuqing had organized yesterday afternoon: both were records Grandfather Luo Yuandao had made in the Wilderness—yet this was an exceptionally special kind.
The Horned Demon had discovered them at the 70 Format Laboratory. There had originally been four volumes. The Horned Demon had burned one while verifying them; Ronan had recovered one at the Emerald Light Auction; the one Romanus had brought was the copy kept by the True God, Pope; and the remaining one was most likely with Li Wei.
It was because of these notebooks that Ronan had sent the wealthy merchants and prominent figures attending the Emerald Light auction to the Roof of the World, stirring up quite a storm.
Everyone knew how much he valued these notebooks. Romanus bringing out one of them now and putting on this "returning it to its rightful owner" act showed sufficient sincerity.
Still, it was strange. How could the Amaterasu Order have let go so easily? Had they already uncovered the secrets behind the notebook, rendering the notebook itself worthless?
For the moment, Ronan suppressed his doubts and opened the notebook. Sure enough, the familiar words were still written on the title page:
