Deng Chun jolted awake, drenched in cold sweat.
Sensing his sudden movement and open eyes, the Smart Butler in the room automatically turned on the lights, drew back the blackout curtains, and informed him:
"It is now 7:59 a.m. on Monday, August 19, 2097, Ban City time. Mr. Deng Chun, would you like me to call for breakfast service?"
"Ban City?" Deng Chun was still a little dazed.
Why Ban City?
"This trip includes a stopover in Ban City and a business meeting has been recorded. There are currently two minutes until landing. Mr. Deng Chun, there is no record of this in your private itinerary. Would you like to mark it again?"
"No."
At the word "mark," Deng Chun frowned instinctively.
The keywords and unresolved doubts from the Dream Game still bothered him somewhat.
But compared with the new troubles growing in his heart, they seemed like nothing.
Last night's gathering of the Deng Family's younger generation had ended around midnight. It had been neither hasty nor overly drawn-out. Everyone had maintained a good sense of propriety and displayed fine breeding. Yet problems on certain levels would not simply disappear because the "chickens and dogs" tried hard and knew their place.
Deng Chun scrubbed his face hard, then checked the time again.
After the gathering ended, he had returned to his room and searched for, organized, and reviewed some information. By the time he drifted into an exhausted sleep, it had probably been around three in the morning.
Ban City time was one hour ahead of Lake City time. In other words, he had slept for around four hours.
