The syllable Raven uttered was "I" in Ritual Ancient Script, though her pronunciation was a little indistinct, not quite exact. Its final sound seemed to keep echoing and layering over itself. Perhaps only Raven, with her remarkable voice, could produce that effect.
The word "I" in Ritual Ancient Script was nothing special in itself. But what Ronan understood—and what it called to mind—was the other "I" that the Martial Emperor had recently confirmed to be an Overrun Divine Script.
"That 'I'..."
Ronan traced the rough outline of the secret character for "I" in the air, showing that he understood.
At last, Raven stopped prompting him.
It was no surprise that Raven understood this "I." Ronan had first discovered the special character thanks to her: she had perfectly recreated the seemingly silly pose in an image left by his grandfather and father, bringing that extraordinary character back into the world.
She simply rarely showed it.
But that was beside the point. What mattered was that Ronan had grasped what Raven meant:
In this work, he was trying to describe a vast spacetime event from the perspective of a Deity—an Ancient God in particular. But his account was far too objective.
Judging by the wealth of professional historical texts written in Ritual Ancient Script, and even by what the Martial Emperor had revealed about Overrun Divine Script, Ancient Gods had never deliberately pursued "objectivity." Nor could they.
They brought "I" into every moment of an event. In a sense, perhaps their bodies were so immense that many events happened right on them. Even when an event occurred some distance away, they could still feel something of it firsthand.
Well, that was only Ronan's idle speculation.
Whatever the case, Raven's suggestion was excellent, and it had come at just the right time.
